I messaged the KFOR News Director for her thoughts about it. Her reply back to me:

I think it will be OK for us. They are just adding the CW's nightly programs to our 7pm-9pm block...and we get to keep everything else we had in place - like the newscasts (Rise & Shine and the 9pm news). The CW is acquiring a lot of sports programming and that's what tends to bring in the viewers these days - so maybe it's a good thing for us.
 
With Nexstar owning the CW now, it seems to want it on its O&O's.

Last I'd heard, 34 was Sinclair, which didn’t have a strong relationship with the CW.
