Nope, not at all but, as you like to point out, some people will lose their jobs.Would having to watch the news an hour later interfere with your bedtime?
Those do not count. Nexstar only has WREG in Memphis and WHO-DT in Des Moines, and has no stations in Spokane.u forgot WLMT, KSKN, and KCWI
Meanwhile WATL didn't get the CW, but WPCH did.Yes, the KONG-TV thing could happen, but all the discussion based on it is based on an anonymous source, all leading back to the same article.
It's Wednesday, and Gracenote is still reporting an unchanged schedule for a shift rumored for Friday.
Not necessarily. As mentioned above, in Spokane, KREM and KSKN are both owned by Tegna. KSKN 22 is the CW affiliate and airs KREM 2 News at 10. They could make the same arrangement in Seattle.Well, there goes King 5 News at 9, unless ther carry the CW programs from 7pm to 9pm.
can they buy the tct stations? Those do not count. Nexstar only has WREG in Memphis and WHO-DT in Des Moines, and has no stations in Spokane.
No. TCT is not selling anything. End of story.can they buy the tct stations?
u no fun why not put MNTV in those marketsNo. TCT is not selling anything. End of story.
Good Lord.u no fun why not put MNTV in those markets
For the last time, MNTV is not even a network and really isn't a determining factor in any affiliation. It's a "programming service" and here in Seattle their two hour block of off network programming that duplicates what is widely available elsewhere is buried at 2 am on KZJO last time I checked. No station is "looking" to be a My Network affiliate, they grudgingly sign a deal that gives them 2 hours of programming that they can use to fill up the overnight hours in place of TV preachers or color bars.u no fun why not put MNTV in those markets
it was produced by KPIXin checking the KSTW (Seattle 11) website it also appears their 10pm News is going away as well.
Tegna doesnt clear Liv Golf on their station, but when is the last time Dateline have more viewers than two hours of CW schedule. Fox had a headstart making 10pm/9central newscast. That's syndication not NBC Friday Night. The original article that said CW was going to KONG had all sorts of fantasy-journalism red flags:
1. Selected the most likely affiliate (guessed).
2. Quoted an anonymous source.
3. Left an 'out' in case they are wrong, as in 'not yet finalized'.
Honorable mention would be that it just didn't make sense to pull KING5 news and Dateline for lower rated programming.
It was a good guess for someone not familiar with the market-- but guessing should not be passed off as journalism.
I don't know KONG's ratings, but I've seen quarters where Ion TV has regularly beaten The CW. The bar is not very high.Tegna doesnt clear Liv Golf on their station, but when is the last time Dateline have more viewers than two hours of CW schedule. How many people watch the WNBA? Including the Seattle Storm?I don't know KONG's ratings, but I've seen quarters where Ion TV has regularly beaten The CW. The bar is not very high.
And even if the 10PM News on KONG was lower rated than CW, they have a full inventory to sell!
With that said, and without citations to back it up, I have a good feeling that the Dateline/KING5 News combo is getting higher ratings than The CW.
