104.5 is a pretty open frequency. Only nearby thing I know of is an LPFM around Simpsonville and The Block translator in Spartanburg, neither of which should be an issue here. Not an ideal signal like their last one was though.

WHLC in Highlands, according to its web site last time I checked, is supposed to reach the Greenville area. My guess is the translator already there blocks it.

Radio-Locator says WHLC shouldn't reach Greenville, because it is at the edge of the fringe signal.

But I found this on Wikipedia. Wayback Machine

Wikipedia also says WHLC applied for a Greenville translator but gave up on the idea.

That’s quite a generous map. Radio-Locator doesn’t take mountains and other obstructions in to account very well - stations like 105.9 WTMT and 96.5 WOXL from Asheville show Greenville in the fringe area, but they’re completely unreceivable due to the terrain.

I was able to get WSPA-FM 106.3 in Hendersonville (and north of) and Forest City a couple of weeks ago, although spotty, which was impressive considering they have a very low height. Also caught a few blips of them on the Blue Ridge Parkway south of Black Mountain!

96.5 WOXL doesn't seem to reach past the Cowpens area, halfway to Charlotte, but it does seem to find a sweet spot in the Greer / Lyman area on Route 29 where comes in decently for a few miles with little to no static at times.

105.9 WTMT used to reach the same area but now the Paris Mountain site (amazingly directional) signal is stronger, reaching up to 30 miles east into Spartanburg, but it doesn't seem to reach at all to the north into Travelers Rest, which is only like 3 miles away, that's where WTMT, still being over 40 miles north & behind mountains, already starts to overpower it, even while looking UP, with a clear line of sight, right back at the Paris Mountain Tower Site / Farm!

I’m surprised that 105.9 translator was wedged in like that. It’s stronger to the south than a lot of the other translators due to the directionality.

In Asheville, there’s a similar situation in reverse. There’s a translator on 101.1 that’s extremely directional. It has a decent signal in Asheville, but it’s very prone to interference from WROQ, especially the HD signal as soon as you start going south of Asheville. The translator can come in over analog but the WROQ HD signal will at times try to come in and stomp all over it. I’ve even witnessed both at roughly the same strength level on top of each other.
