Zack Bryan

When the Billboard Hot Country chart was released today, Zach Bryan's duet with Kacey Musgraves was #1. He also occupied a bunch of other spots in the chart thanks to the release of his latest album. Those new songs pushed down previous #1s Rich Men to #4 and Try That to #9. When you're hot, you're hot. When you're not, you're not.

Meanwhile Zach has not had as much luck on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. His previous single peaked at #23. Why the disparity, you ask? Two different chart methodologies, and two different audiences. The Hot Country chart includes streaming, and the Airplay chart does not. A few months ago I went to a music conference where one panel featured a radio PD and a Spotify programmer. The Spotify programmer heralded Zach Bryan as the next big thing. The radio programmer said Zach's music tests poorly. Country radio has a target audience of 60% women 25-54. Streaming has not target, and really has no way of knowing who is streaming its music.

CMA Awards nominations will be released this Thursday. Don't be surprised if you see Zach Bryan get a few nominations. He was nominated last spring for ACM Awards. But the nominations likely won't change his situation with country radio.

In related news, he has ended his boycott of Ticketmaster, stating "one guy can't change the whole system". His "Quitting Time" tour will use the platform, after numerous complaints from fans concerning AXS during his last tour.

Here's the article:

I buy a lot of tickets and I understand what he's saying. I will say that Ticketmaster has changed its system so the price you see includes all fees.

He also has a love/hate relationship with social media:

I think the love/hate relationship many have with Ticketmaster and their need to fix many aspects of their business could be an entire discussion thread unto itself. In fact, it was at one point.

Zach Bryan Arrested in Oklahoma

Country star Zach Bryan was arrested on charges of “obstruction of investigation” in Oklahoma Thursday, according to multiple news reports. He was released on bond later in the day.
Commenting on the incident after his release, Bryan owned up to being “out of line” with police: “Today I had an incident with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Emotions got the best of me and I was out of line in the things I said. I support law enforcement as much as anyone can, I was just frustrated in the moment, it was unlike me and I apologize. They brought me to jail, and there is a mug shot of me floating around. Prayers we can all move on from this and prayers people know I’m just trying the best I can, I love you guys and I am truly sorry to the officers.”

Just saw that Zach Bryan is partnering with Bud Light for a concert Super Bowl wknd:

I guess he's not friends with Kid Rock or John Rich.
Hey, he and Anheuser Busch can go for broke and pair up Zach Bryan and Dylan Mulvaney for the next Superbowl ad.
