Nexstar renews affiliation deal with Fox

Makes you wonder WHY since they're npw the proud owner of A RIVAL NETWORK

KTXL Sacramento a Nexstar owned station didn't flip to the CW that deal went to Hearst for KQCA in the area.
I know what you mean I said KTXL would get CW for a Subchannel in the Sacramento area because Nexstar has the final say on who gets the CW affiliation initially but that became false once KQCA became the CW affiliate.

In no way is The CW anywhere close to a rival to CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox. Never has been.
YET

At the rate they're going (ESPECIALLY in the area of news & sports), it COULD be by the end of their current deals with the others (Their relationship with CBS is already strained as it is)

I never said a station flipped

Nexstar didn't flip The CW to WXSP once Sinclair renewed with The CW the only station that flipped in the new deal was in OKC where Nexstar took The CW from Sinclair. But it was a fair trade as Sinclair got The CW in The Steel City & Seattle on KOMO subchannel as I thought that KONG was going to be the new home of The CW. TEGNA isn't going to renew The CW when it comes up in 2026 in my opinion maybe sooner.

Nexstar needs fox. fox doesn’t need nexstar.
Agreed

Though I suspect that by the end, they won't because The CW will be largely on par with Fox despite not having one big sports deal but instead having a bunch of little ones which collectively keep the lights on at the Sports Department
