WGY in HD anymore?

It was reported on the NYRMB that they turned it off recently.
It still was in mid July when I drove thru there but the previous post trumps that. Not too surprising since all the other iheart AMs I'm aware of running it have moved away from it.
I find it a little odd since the number of receivers seems to continue increasing - albeit maybe slowly since not all cars come with it. Could be corporate doesn't want to fund HD tech refresh when the equipment reaches end of life.

IBOC exciters are essentially a single-board PC running a custom version of Linux, attached to the RF hardware. If the computer in it crashes, the cheapest "repair" is to simply shut it off.
It was also reported that WGY increased their analog audio bandwidth from the IBOC-mandated 5 kHz to the full NRSC 10 kHz, a sign that they probably don't intend to turn the IBOC back on anytime soon.

Or they prefer the full 10 kHz bandwidth that comes with AM without the HD in operation.
I was up in the Lake George, NY area back in June this year, and was listening to WGY on the car radio. This isn’t a great location for them, but I was getting the HD from time to time. The car radio would switch automatically between the analog and the digital. I don’t remember which was which, but when the radio switched between the two, there was a notable level change, enough that I’d continually have to reach for the volume after each transition. My co-pilot was not amused, and I had to give up listening to WGY.
