Lamptimer is blown out?

Anybody notice that the "Lamptimer" is dark? 1440 has not been transmitting at all since the storm last week. 92.7 is on but where I happen to live I could get 1440 a lot easier than 92.7. It did not matter whether is was 92.7 or 1440 because most of the records from that erea were MONO anyway. I know there are apps an internet and all that but it would be nice when 1440 is on again. I hope whatever the problem is gets fixed soon!

You and I are among the very few that would even notice they're gone. :D

92.7 isn't fed by them, anyway. They are tied to KDKB-HD2, as is 1440 unless they're airing Mother Hubbard's sports overflow.

When I first read this, I thought maybe the Lamptimer blew out due to their monster ratings! They went from a 1.2 in June, a 2.4 in July and now a 2.9 in August? That’s quite the jump in a couple short months. That has to be some of their biggest ratings since getting the 92.7 translator for the Lumberyard!

@DrAkbar I'm sure there's some spare parts behind the Media Hut that could be donated to the cause.

You've not yet received the call from the Lumberyard crew?

Maybe Mother Hubbard will take the insurance settlement and turn in the license? That Tower of Pow Pow Power has some miles on it.

Who listens to the AM signal? I can't get a clear sig here in fabulous South Tempe but 92.7 and 93.3 come in all over the Valley.

It's the only pre-set I need.

Me, for one.

92.7 is spotty in NE Mesa. Depends on elevation. In my neighborhood, at 1500 ft ASL in the foothills of Usery Mountain, it comes in fine. But if I leave my palatial Red Mountain Ranch estate, it starts cutting out as I drive toward Falcon Field and points south and west. It's just not reliable west of Recker Rd. and south of McDowell Rd. 93.3-HD2 is fine, even inside my stucco-encrusted house, but of course, only on my HD radios. I don't have HD in my van.

1440 comes (came?) in decently at night, even when blasting those 52,000 milliwatts. It's audible when 92.7 is not. I'd hate to see Mother Hubbard give up on Ancient Modulation.

I prefer listening to it just for the way it sounds (and I live in North Phoenix where the AM signal at night is barely audible).

It's really weird how it suddenly happened. I was listening over at the Del Taco I usually hit up on Tuesday nights (near Tatum and Bell) at around 7:30, but when I came out at 9, the station was out.

I really hope this is only temporary like they're saying it is. I always love listening to my oldies on 1440.
According to an FCC filing Hubbard made to the FCC, the tower site and feed lines received damage. They claim they hope to be back on the by the end of the month.

I also saw that. Before they put that up for all to see, I actually called Hubbard Phoenix they day after the outage started and they pretty much said the same thing. I've driven past the transmitter multiple times now both before and during the outage and I saw that someone left the lights on in the building, which means someone has obviously been in there (I assume to better figure out the extent of the damage).

I will likely be back down there sometime this week to see if anything's changed (that is, if they aren't back on the air by then). Either way, it's still a fun drive down there and I hope to get blasted with the 52w of KAZG radiation in the dead of night once again.

RIP to my wallet paying for the gas to drive to and from the lamptimer lol

Ninja edit: I actually wonder if my call to them is the reason why they know about this. Has anyone else called Hubbard about this?
