Official CBD of MLB

Here's a subject line I never thought I'd see. Especially given the concerns of baseball and sports-enhancing drugs. I guess they now view cannabis as harmless. But starting today, the MLB Network has a new presenting sponsor: Re-Create: The official CBD of Major League Baseball.

CBD is not derived from cannabis for commercial purposes. It comes from hemp, and is legal to send anywhere in the US in the U.S.P.S. mail service.

Cannibis contains CBD, too. But extracting CBD annuls the narcotic ingredient of cannabis so about 85% of the value is destroyed. So nearly all CBD in the US comes from a 100% legal plant.

National Library of Medicine says:

Herbal products, botanical products, or phytomedicines are produced from plants or botanicals to maintain health or treat diseases. Herbal supplements are products specifically used for internal use. A large number of prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications originate from plant derivatives. They differ from herbal supplements in that they use FDA-regulated, purified ingredients. However, the FDA does not regulate the manufacture of herbal supplements. Therefore, preparations may contain a portion of the plant or the whole plant and vary in their consistency. Herbal supplements are most often sold in solid form (capsules, pills, tablets, lozenges) but are also available in liquid or powder form.

Regardless, I'm talking about the association of this product with professional sports. Radio stations have been cautioned about accepting advertising about this product. But now we have a cable sports channel that now features a CBD company as a topline advertiser.

It's basically like an herb... a plant extract. If you take multivitamins that contain herbs, it is no different. No different, either, than caffeine in that both are plant extracts

Then why have broadcasters been cautioned by legal experts about carrying CBD advertising?

I feel better about MLB having an official CBD than I did about its having an official crypto, which it did last season in FTX.
