Now that 104.9 in Albany has flipped to Classic Country I was just thinking how the Hudson Valley been without a Classic Country for years. Is there any reason why they don't approach such a format ?

WBNR usually ran classic country as part of the “Real Country” brand on 1260 AM and 92.5 FM, but it lasted a few years until two years ago when WBNR flipped to WBPM on 92.9 and WGHQ’s “Magic 92.5” to compete against WGNY-FM’s “Fox Oldies”, WKXP’s “Lite-FM” on 94.3 and WRNQ’s “Q92”, and now, we have too many stations to go against the same audience, because WGHQ is hurting “Fox Oldies”, “Lite-FM” and “Q92”.
The only way to listen to classic country, is to go to one of the apps like TuneIn and iHeartRadio.
