WJBR sold to VCY???

One would assume that after Delilah's show is over, the station's going to be fully automated. So whenever the flip does happen, there won't really be much to hear, except an introduction to something you don't even want. The only game we could play is guessing whether Jesus pulls the plug mid-song.

lol was probably typing just as you were.

For all you recording, be recording tonight at midnight, according to Mike rossi on Facebook

Beasley paid 45 million for it. And sell for 5. Must really be desperate for cash.
Or they recognize the market has changed and accept things for what they are? It’s not like they didn’t get cash out of the station in the ensuing years. Now, in 2023, that’s what you’re going to get for a stand-alone in Wilmington.

But did they really make 40000000 in advertising in the time that they owned it? I'm guessing not.
So therefore they sold it at a loss. but than keeping it clearly would not help them.

Didn’t speculate how much they netted, but the asset depreciated. It was never going back to where it was, any time in the foreseeable future. Fish or cut bait and all that. In and of itself that isn’t desperation, it’s accepting reality.

It seems like both of these have done a very good job of picking up every song. But neither of them shows "Bridge Over Troubled Water" which played right before 2pm. Anyone know why?
While the WJBR website did not pick it up, Mediabase did at 1:53 PM ET:

1:53 PM
SIMON & GARFUNKEL
Bridge Over Troubled WaterColumbia

In general, when available (not every station is monitored), Mediabase does an excellent job of song capture.
I've checked lists after some station's mix shows and been impressed, considering how many snippets are included.

This makes sense and I'm recording. .

This was in The Broadcasting club Facbeook group when discussing the national EAS Test

I have to admit... I was a bit underwhelmed with the sign off. It's not just the fact they waited until their last day to share the news to their listeners. The station has been part of the community for 66 years. I don't know. I could be wrong, too.
