Greetings from Champaign, IL.

My “beginnings” were many years ago at a small station in Gaithersburg, MD.referred to sometime as the 500 watt flower pot, WHMC 1150 on the AM dial. I acted as “an assistant to“ the one and only Barry Richards. To make a long story short, that led to a part time job doing overnights and ultimately landing me at WKTK- FM in Baltimore, MD for several years. Eventually, while still working at the station, I heard from Jake Einstein GM of WHFS in Bethesda, MD. who expressed interest in me doing a show there which I did for around three years right around the time the great Don “Cerphe”Cowell departed .This was my dream job, working at on the the first and only “ free-form” progressive stations in the US where you could program your own music and essentially create your own format day in and day out. I thoroughly enjoyed and was enriched by working with David and Damian Einstein and the renowned Jon “ Weasel” Gilbert. Also a shoutout to Thomas Grooms, Dianne Divola and the late Bob “here” Showacere who also worked with me during that magical time in the late 70’s/ early 80’s known in DC as the HFS golden era of radio.
