Years ago around 2008 before the Eatontown translator, it came in weakly around Red Bank/Middletown. Monster signal100.7 comes here like a local here in Paterson, NJ.
You posted this very same statement on the Facebook NYC TV/Radio group. And you still have not provided a legitimate reason why you want this to become a reality other than your perceived "need".New York City needs a new radio station and 107.9 W300EI has been silent since they got their permit to broadcast on 107.9 from lower Manhattan. I eagerly anticipate the day when I can tune to 107.9 and hear W300EI on the air!
The license will expire because W300EI has been silent so it needs to go on the airYou posted this very same statement on the Facebook NYC TV/Radio group. And you still have not provided a legitimate reason why you want this to become a reality other than your perceived "need".
I tend to be very direct and very unforgiving when I see posts made up from 100% emotion and 0% fact-based common sense. So I'll give it to you straight: Your idea is half-baked. When the rules change so that FM translators can become full-fledged stations, and when the FM dial in the NYC area becomes less populated, then come back to us.
Read the prior post from "Speer360" (and all prior posts for that matter) to familiarize yourself before responding in an uninformed manner... They are requesting an additional 90 days to find a primary in order to fire up the translator. At least (for once) someone is going about things legally. That said, I concur with Rollo, emotion brings purely subjective content into any discussion...The license will expire because W300EI has been silent so it needs to go on the air
There’s no shortage of stations that would love to have a translator in Manhattan, even if just on a temporary basis.Read the prior post from "Speer360" (and all prior posts for that matter) to familiarize yourself before responding in an uninformed manner... Doesn't appear to be the case or they wouldn't be looking for additional time to secure one, thus the STA, No?There’s no shortage of stations that would love to have a translator in Manhattan, even if just on a temporary basis.

The 104.7 translator is not on the main antenna mast. It’s nice to see a second station that will use the FM Antenna on 1WTC, as it does not look like any full power station is moving there due to its location, height and power limitations due to the height.
Based on the application, the antenna isn’t on WTC at all. The ASR number resolves to 55 Water Street, a 53-story building, with a 65 foot tower on top.The 104.7 translator is not on the main antenna mast.
I know there are pirate stations on taller buildings than W300EI.Based on the application, the antenna isn’t on WTC at all. The ASR number resolves to 55 Water Street, a 53-story building, with a 65 foot tower on top.
You mean EMF.W300EI today filed with the Commission to specify EFM’s WPLJ as the station it will carry on 107.9.
The timing of this is a bit odd, because the filing includes a letter from EFM authorizing the carriage on 107.9, which is dated September 7, 2023. Meanwhile on October 10, W300EI licensee Apple 107.1 (sic) filed with the FCC for continuation of their silent status, due to losing their program source. That application is still pending.

Indeed. Thank you.You mean EMF.
I'm about two miles from where the transmitter is supposed to be, and I hear nothing on 107.9.Can anyone hear them?
It is pretty directional. Which direction are you from W300EI?I'm about two miles from where the transmitter is supposed to be, and I hear nothing on 107.9.
