101.5 afternoon person

Just heard this “sorry right before I turned the mic on I had to cough. Slurp suck snot sound through nose loudly”.

Yuck.

There’s plenty of better sounding college or even high school broadcasters.

After he sucked the snot he sounded dumb too. Not trying to be a jerk or whatever but that guy sounds dumb af.

Heard some more from “Jeweanne on the wadio”.

Has bad “R” and other mis-pronunciation in delivery and like an exaggerated feminine style. As a woman I’m lost as to how this is what’s on the air trying to target us. Sorry Jeweanne. Your probably a nice enough person but damn. Like damn.

I've been listening, heard him talk twice and didnt hear anything as drastic as you claim. Is he a tiny bit.. not muffled, not slurred together... is he a tiny bit not crisp and clear? Yes. but hes not horrible

If i envision a on air pop talent, i envision someone who kinda sounds like him, just maybe a bit crisp/clearer.
would i hire him in washington dc or seattle? no, but im not the PD/GM and if he attracts the audience, ratings and billing, then thats what counts.

Ya I listened for a bit again what I’m hearing is inconsistent pronunciation of words with R, L, S and popping of Ps severely during a commercial read through. Rs are pronounced as Ws like 1/3 the time. The rhythm and cadence is disjointed sounding too. Like unnatural sounding sentences with strange pauses and quickly pronounced words that flow into exaggerated words that are spoken with the wrong emphasis at the wrong point. Whatever I don’t sign the pay checks.

I won’t be too harsh now. Maybe was at the dentist earlier today or something or has a chew/snoose in. I’ve heard people sound like that with either of those situations.

I’ve worked with Julian and he is a standup person. He’s from Asian decent so of course there will be an accent and things pronounced differently than YOU pronounce them. Tone your Xenophobia down.

I’m sure he’s a decent person. I’d probably have to be aware of the fact that he’s from Asian DESCENT to be xenophobic. So am I. And no not all Asian people pronounce things differently, that comment is stereotypical. Tone down your stereotypes.
