*Enciclopedia, with an E. They were heard here several years ago, but I have a lot of TIS stations (including a local one in Selah) within 100 miles that make 530 a messy frequency.
 
Another round of thanks to @TXPH97 on the tip about 1140 CHRB. I logged it for the first time ever today starting at 1:29 a.m. CT. The station was playing Christian pop and was in/out (and mostly under KHFX) with songs by Denis Grady, Cindy Morgan, Hiram Joseph, and others. I never heard any DJ talk, but the songs matched the CHRB stream and playlist.

This morning shortly before sunrise I heard CHRB again with about the same signal level but playing country songs by John Denver, Lisa Brokop, and Jason Michael. This was a 1,671 mile reception from my location in NW San Antonio.

The I-505 corridor is in the same general orientation to Novato though a bit farther than Sonoma.

I'm also pretty sure KCBS' pasttern is a;so designed to protect the CBC flamethrower on 740 in Calgary. Alberta.
 
Sunrise DX this morning was blah! Nearly everything was CA or OR. 1460 teased me with a traffic report mentioning "25 South" - thought it was needed KZNT Colorado Springs - nope, 'PowerTalk 101.1 and 1460' KION Monterey, for CA's SR-25, not I-25 in CO.
No TP carriers either. Geomagnetic activity.

Nothing too bad yet for geomag activity, if it were.. id notice it and stuff was good on SW yesterday, this weekend, maybe monday for some minor sun burps.

I've heard KION regularly.. every time I hear it, i think i have something a bit more exotic to me.. then im like... damnit, just KION

2300 miles or so, but..... its been heard half a dozen times
 
Early today here in NW San Antonio, starting at 00:45 CT, I logged what I presume was KSGL in Wichita, KS, on 900. I was hearing a weak signal in/out with adult standards music in an E/NE partial null of XEW.

Songs played were by Betty Hutton, Frank Sinatra, Martha Tilton, Mel Tormé, Ethel Ennis, Pete Fountain, and Harry James. There was occasional DJ talk between songs, but it was too down in the mud to understand; however, I was able to make out some "Great American Songbook" references.

KSGL is the only station I can find on 900 with an adult standards format. According to its website, it has mostly Christian talk programming during the day but "Music You Remember" overnight.

If this was indeed KSGL, it was probably on 250 watts day power rather than its regular nighttime 28 watts. The distance from me would be 565 miles.

New one for me last week. Also on 900 from Lebanon.TN and also Adult Standards. WKDA, which are heritage call letters from nearby Nashville. 4:15am CDT Thurs. 10/26. "I'll see your Sinatra and company, and raise you Cathy Carr singing Ivory Tower" whichISs the tune I heard that got my attention. Followed by a positive ID. Format is listed as classic country and vintage standards. In for about 5-10 minutes on top of CHML. I'm assuming 5kw day power instead of 500 watts night. Both ND.

A couple days ago I received Gulfport station 105.9 The Monkey (WXYK) from Zachary LA in my car. Bay St Louis station Kicker 108 (WZKX) also usually interferes with HOT 107.9 (KHXT)’s signal in the morning. Also I heard blues on 92.5 from Zachary late one night. I have no idea what the station was.

I got this one wrong - it was actually WOZK in Ozark, AL.

Reviewing the recordings again, I was able to dig out the following ID: "Your kind of music - AM 900 (garbled), FM 98.3 W252DV." The latter is the translator for WOZK, which I didn't even consider since it's listed as "Oldies 98.3" on Radio Locator, Wikipedia, and mwlist.org. Deeper web searching turned up the adult standards format associated with the station. It was probably on 1 kW day power rather than 70 watts night power.

That makes three stations we now know play adult standards on 900 - WOZK, WKDA, and KSGL.

Sad. Always sad when an established AM bites the dust. But during the years when Ottawa and Montreal were regular business destinations, then- "oldies 1310" was my regular go-to in the car between appointments. Day signal in Montreal was fair...at least in open areas. But it did disappear at night. Going northwest up Highway 417/17 it was listenable for at least 125 mi/200km. on a few nights, it made it into my home location near Chicago,
 
"Freaky" Pre-Halloween" conditions Monday morning (10/30) a little before 4am CDT....

690: New Orleans and Montreal both missing. Instead a strong signal with Spanish Ranchero music. Faded just before TOH. Definitely NOT R. Progreso (which is an occasional visitor around these parts.

760: Another Spanish Music signal. Even stronger than the one on 690, but the music sounded more Pop than Ranchero. Completely blowing out WJR. Then another vanishing act before I could get an ID.
