990 in Muncie has been deleted. With 250 watts and a 6 tower array with a major lobe to the North, it could be heard as far as the Southern parts of Western Michigan. DXers will associate it with the call letters WERK, a Top 40 station with some legendary personalities over the years.

IT hadnt operated with its licensed facilities in years, if not a decade or more
Try 23 years. The original STA was filed in 2000. It really hasn't been consistently or usefully on the air for any length of time since then.
I have a vague recollection of hearing a WERK DX test back in the early 1970's from my home in Tulsa OK.
Given that the letter to WNAP's licensee was returned by the US post office undeliverable... I wonder how the FCC notified them of this cancellation.

The licensee is quite aware, he was on Facebook a few months ago saying he was probably going to turn in the license anyways and was trying to sell an am transmitter that had been used on 990
