Disney considering selling cable channels to A&E

Here's some context:

Hearst has 15 ABC affiliates along with a subchannel affiliation on their NBC affilate KSBW and recently after they bought an NBC affiliate WBBH in SWFL they inherit the operations of an ABC affiliate WZVN. But I'm sure selling half of Freeform and NatGeo is just a drop in the bucket, also there's a NatGeo tab on Disney Plus along with having A+E/History/Lifetime content on the streamer. With Disney Plus merging with Hulu I expect it will add ABC News content and probably adding local ABC affiliates similar to what Peacock and Paramount Plus did with NBC and CBS respectively. I always predicted when Hearst Television will be the next M&A target for Disney even at expense of network affliation changes if they switch the Hearst owned CBS and NBC affiliates to ABC. BTW don't including the former Litton Entertaiment content.

When Disney mention keeping FX and Disney Channel, I wonder does this include the off shoot channels like FXX and Disney Junior?

Good question but I can’t imagine them selling any channel with the word “Disney” in its name.
Sure, just like some of their theme parks are franchised to foreign companies, they could do a licensing deal with A&E for the Disney Channel name. Besides, where is A&E going to get Disney content from?

This is borderline clickbait. Why would anyone want Freeform after that channel got dumped from all Charter Spectrum systems? Let alone A+E?!?
I think it will hurt Charter if they unable to reach a deal with A+E if the latter bundles Freeform, Nat Geo Wild, and Nat Geo Mundo into there separate negotiations. I'm curious here since Fubo doesn't have A+E's channels but if Disney buys, swaps, or sells some tv stations and networks this will hurt both Charter and Fubo a lot. TBH Charter only cared about ESPN than the entertainment, kids, and documentary channels that Disney operates or partnered.

A+E won’t be purchasing these networks so there won’t be a carriage dispute with Charter involving them.
