YouTube TV losing AZ Family

Is this a dispute with all Gray stations nationwide, or just in Phoenix? If just Phoenix, will KPHO/5 also be affected? YouTube TV already doesn't carry KNXV/15.2 (AntennaTV and Coyotes games), and fortunately I can get them via antenna.

I'll answer my own question. Paramount/CBS handles all affiliates' contracts with YouTube TV. Channel 5 will not be affected.

Not sure if you can trust Cord Cutters News as I noticed several of there reports about Diamond Sports were inaccurate in the past. But AZFamily does confirm that CBS5 is not affected. If this is not national and just 3TV, I think it's most likely because Gray wants higher retrans fees for 3TV because it simulcast most Suns games.

Hello Friends,

Question: does anyone subscribe to YouTube TV?

If so, positives and negatives?

Thanks

Hello Friends,

Question: does anyone subscribe to YouTube TV?
Yes. I have for the last 3 years, with a couple of 2-month shutoffs during baseball season (I have MLB.TV, and the ESPN games I can listen to on radio or online). I dropped DirecTV due to high costs. $78 per month beats $200+ by a long shot.
If so, positives and negatives?
Positives:
1. 100% reliable, unlike DirecTV or Cox Cable. Any outages are due to my ISP. I use CenturyLink (my local phone company -- orders of magnitude better than its predecessors) for internet, and they are almost flawless. 99% uptime. If my internet is up, so is YouTube TV. Most local channels available (No Ion, or any LPTV/Class A stations). Some subchannels aren't there, but some are. "Cable" channels are pretty much everything major available via cable or satellite.

2. I can watch on my phone, PC, or tablet with no issues, no matter where I am.

3. They now have NFL Sunday Ticket, and it's a bit cheaper than it was with DirecTV.

Negatives:
1. Only three streams allowed.

2. No NHL Network, but since most hockey games are available via ESPN+ outside of YTTV, this is a minor inconvenience.
You're welcome. :D

It has to be, and if that's true, Gray shot themselves in the foot big-time.

They spent a lot of money for the rights to the Suns. That includes rights fees plus building two full-powered stations in Flagstaff and Yuma. They don't make a dime for OTA broadcasts other than for advertising. If they thought they were going to clean up by jacking up their fees to streaming providers, they may have seriously miscalculated.

NBA League Pass blacks out Suns games in Arizona, regardless of the originating station. It wouldn't affect games on ESPN/ABC or TNT because KTVK couldn't air them anyway.

I hope Scripps is keeping an eye on this. If they move the Coyotes from 15.2 to 61, the latter's days on YTTV may be numbered as well.

KASW is also off YTTV, replaced by a national CW feed.
