WFME (106.3) translator has gone silent

W292FV, the 2 watt translator for Family Radio’s 1560 WFME, went silent on October 27, and has filed with the Commission for suspension of operation. It is located on the New Rochelle, NY tower formerly used by AM 1460 WVOX, also now silent. Family Radio’s notice to the FCC said they were asked to vacate the site by the lessor, which I presume would be the former owner of WVOX.
The former 93.5 WVIP, now WNVU, lists the WVOX tower as an auxiliary site, using the same Shively antenna as W292FV.
Family Radio said it is considering its options, and looking for a new transmitter location.
W292FV is one of those “revitaliztion of AM” translators that is perpetually tied to its associated AM.

I thought the one in Mount Kisco went silent? There's another Family Radio translator on 106.3 in New Rochelle?

Mount Kisco is a full powered license. WYMK.

And the 1460 site and studio building was not part of the sale of the AM license. I would expect the land to be sold for redevelopment in the near future.

The New Rochelle translator was parked there with two watts for a potential upgrade/move-in closer to New York. I believe once 106.3 W292DV completes its move to 107.9 that will be possible, but it has been years since I've looked that up and there may still be something else in the way.

W292DV already moved to 107.9 and became W300EI. Then promptly went silent. 106.3 is “clear” for a translator in NYC, as long as it doesn’t have enough power for WKMK to protest.

Well W300EI has filed a Primary Station Change.

EMF gives them permission to re-transmit WPLJ-FM
