Signing out for dummies. (Well, 'singular' dummy, anyway)

I've oten steered back and forth on the half-dozen or so RadioDiscussion forums I've got in Favourites here, and have signed out of the final one -- only to find my asleep-at-the-wheel mug avatar still active the next day.
Is there one overall 'kill' switch I'm not seeing when I get done with perusing or commenting on the NYC, Philly, DX, etc boards and want to sign out for the night? Or does each separate forum need its unique, separate sign-off?
I'd hate to think that anyone here believes I'm a hopeless addict or some sort of industrial espionage fiend.
T.i.a. !

See, I haven't been back to the mother country of Queens in over ten years, so I don't know if this unique detour of 1010 WINS reception is still occurring. Perhaps someone is aboard here from the NYC Metro and can update it :
A few times when I got off the Verrazano Bridge and drove west on the Staten Island Expressway/278 toward the Goethals, that peculiar null of 1010 WINS was vivid.
The resultant audio racket -- music to my DXer ears -- was a completely garbled, imploded mess as far as my wife's evaluation went. An out-of-phase voice and tragically enfeebled teletype swirled and swished for the better part of a mile.
It was the same cancellation effect present (same wife, too) driving west of the Big Ape 690 Jacksonville's 6 towers one night, and another night when I made a wrong turn and wound up 'behind' WKOK 1070 Sunbury's main lobe.
Same reaction from the wife, too. 'I think your radio is busted.'
As I embraced it : Music to my ears. But that form of entertainment chaos could not be acceptable to many Staten Islanders living in that cone of a null. And S.I. is one of NYC's certified Five Boroughs!
WINS' *daytime* pattern:
And from Radio-Locator:
I know that WINS has done some work on their signal over the years. So is that crumpled SSW null still menacingly active ?

Any reason you wouldn't be logged out would be due to your browser cache.

But if you're the only user of the site on your device, what need to logging out do you have? It's not like you're on dialup in 1997 and need to disconnect the modem so someone can make a phone call.

I think this part was supposed to go on another topic?

I know a whole bunch of folks in the other four boroughs that might take issue with you about that.

Have to agree, Lance. Should've been somewhere else. Maybe the Staten Island board? (Maybe the Cholesterol & Statins board? Would make just as much sense.)

Yup, Weiserguy and Lance. My error with that 1010 post (so THIS is where it wound up?)..
Chalk some blame up to my 'era', too.

I dunno about what a 'cache' is, or what the difference is between emptying that and emptying the history load. Probably never will. But l will try signing out of each individual R-D site for a while. Thanx for the responses!

A cache is a storage of data that is kept in your system so it does not have to be downloaded again. So your browser may have gotten "confused" and is looking at old cache data and has not updated to the last thing you did.

Think of "cache" like chewing tobacco. You keep a mouthful until it is time to spit it out and take a new chaw. Is that traditional enough language for you? o_O
