Live Holiday Programming

No less than three Thanksgiving Day Parades to be seen live nationally this year from different streaming services:

Hulu - Philadelphia

Peacock - Macy's in NYC

Pluto Christmas - Chicago

All three should remain On Demand after the live broadcasts.

The thing is does ANYBODY watch ANY other Thanksgiving Day parade besides the official Macy's parade broadcast on NBC??

There WAS a reason why CBS ended the All-American Thanksgiving Day Parade (And streaming DID NOT EVEN EXIST back then)

And don't forget the Rosebowl Parade.

When Seattle had one (and KING 5 aired it), I watched it as a kid...it was the day after Thanksgiving. But with no Macy's anymore in Seattle (they sponsored the parade), the parade went away. KING dropped coverage several years before the Macy's in Seattle closed.
CBS coverage was slightly better than NBC this year, but Kevin & Kelcie spent way too much time with stars promoting their shows and what they are having for Thanksgiving dinner. The Broadway segments were nice.

Well the Tournament Of Roses Parade is CBS has NBC over a barrel (Even though it too broadcasts the Parade (And ABC was so late getting into televising Parades that I would be venturous to say that MANY LOCAL STATIONS such as KUSA 9 have it over a barrel with their televising of local parades (KUSA 9 televises The Parade Of Lights as it's the media sponsor. they've it for over 20 YEARS)

Why??

It's been on in Denver even before Macy's came to town (Which would put our history of seeing the Parade somewhere around 1954 as KOA-TV (Now KCNC 4) didn't sign on until December 1953 - Wikipedia)

Good Lord, a parade fan.

CBS still carries the Macy's parade from up the street from NBC. The live feeds from Detroit (Hudson's) and Philadelphia (Mummers) are long gone, as is the taped coverage from the Santa Claus Parade in Toronto.

In Detroit, NBC affiliate WDIV carries the local parade, now sponsored by Gardner White, and doesn't show Macy's, even the afternoon replay. Maybe it's on a subchannel. It's also syndicated, with one other NBC affiliate (Grand Rapids) and a few affiliated of other nets taking it live. Most stations show it on tape.

And what's wrong with that??
