Catching WFIL, KLVI, KLZ and KWTO all came after their Sunday night signoff at 2 a.m., following the Whiffenpoof song.
I heard KLZ a couple of times after WIND's poor little lambs lost their way on Monday mornings.
This is kind of funny, to me anyway -- I've also been hearing KWTO fighting with WIND. WIND is the nighttime regular, but the last year or so KWTO (I think) has been fighting with it. It's so much noise! And so elusive!
At my college location in southeast Iowa (Mount Pleasant), it was the battle of weak signals with WIND usually under KWTO by day. WIND a bit stronger at night But KWTO still getting the better of it, KLZ occasionally joining the fray,

I forgot to mention on tuesday morning around 7:30am in Carson City on my Sangean DT-200X

I got a weak signal of KYET 1170 Golden Valley, AZ

I hear that one late one night when they were on their 1 watt night power. .and verified such with the engineer, back when i was in WY

KATA 1340 Arcata, CA about 1600 miles away logged at 730pm AK Dec 8 with station ID back into ESPN

Great catch Paul. You need to try 1490 when the A/K levels aren't so high. Native American powwow music sticks out like a sore thumb from KYNR Toppenish. But with the path you get, I'd bet you get KBRO or KSYC before KYNR!

In reviewing I/Q files form June 11th 2023 I found more Multihop FMB ES.

89.9 WKVO Georgetown, KY 2032 Miles New
92.5 WBKR Owensboro, KY 1904 Miles New

WBKR is not a 100% confirmed however it was airing a NASCAR Cup series tournament and I had a mulithop path to KY at the time. Friend helped me ID this. More then likely it was this.

If you have the storage I/Q files are awesome as you can go back later when you have the time or bored and find ALOT of missing things compared to using a normal radio.

Also attached and image showing all the Multihop logs from that day.

Not a report on a catch but I thought it as good a place as any to say that I discovered how to adjust my C Crane Skywave radio so it doesn't automatically keep showing the time after you tune to a frequency.

I guess I didn't read the instruction manual carefully enough because I was so anxious to use the radio when I first got it but when the radio is off, you hold down the #4 button and it gives an 'F' or a 'C' option. Choose the 'F' option and whatever frequency you are on will stay in the display window.

And all this time I was wishing it didn't keep reverting to the time instead of showing the frequency. :sneaky:

Sorry I can't help you here.

I had the Sangean PR-D5 which automatically continued to show the frequency instead of the time but my Sangean PR-D18 shows the time soon after you select a frequency and I too don't know if that can be changed.

9705khz Radio Vatican in French via the Vatican transmitter site near Rome to Central Africa at 2035UTC Dec 11th to Central Africa with catholic news. s9+40 or better with a tiny bit of noise or fading but pretty darn solid

6195khz BBC in Pashto via Oman to Afghanistan at 0110UTC Dec 12th. Solid, steady, unwavering S9+50

7445khz BBC in Dari via Oman to Afghanistan at 0242UTC Dec 12th. Banging hard at S9+50

9410khz BBC Pashto via Oman to Afghanistan at 0309UTC Dec 12... pretty darn good just past S9+40

1530 KFBK Sacramento, CA 2200 miles away, banging in so strong I could rectify the signal and light a bulb with it. No joke. I can tell Sacramento is a PPM ratings market and KFBK has the watermarking gear cranked to elevenity gajillon.... their audio is pretty metallicy with a digital ringing to it

TEF6686 Radio, 15 ft wellbrook loop, EmTech ZM2 antenna tuner and DXEngineering preamp

NEW LOG! KMYC 1410 Marysville, CA 1KW/2 tower directional at about 550pm AK/650pm Pacific with a rejoin of the Jesse Kelly show out of a national spot break. 2150 mile distance or so! Had this before but wasnt able to ID the show on the air. Didnt hear any KMYC local content but they're the only 1410 carrying the Jesse Kelly show.

Helps that CFTE is defunct, right? Nicely done. Were they all alone?
KERI Bakersfield may be possible as well, with Christian talk and teaching programs.

Great stuff. Looks like a great setup as well.

I heard KERI weakly the other night.. i would recognize J Vernon McGee's voice anywhere

8pm AK hour/10pm Mtn time hour Dec 11th, 1210khz

KGYN isnt a new log here, but surprising nonetheless.. pretty loud and clear at times
KHAT slipped in during a slight fade down of KGYN with a "New Country 96.7" liner. KHAT is a new log.. in AK!

Oh the irony of me logging KHAT in Alaska. some of you will understand. I used to live 1 1/2 miles away from KHAT!!

KHAT is 2500 miles away from me, KGYN is 2885 miles away.

KGVO 1290 Missoula, MT with station liner back into Jesse Kelly Show. About 835pm AK/1035pm Mountain Mon Dec 11 1940 miles away in McGrath, Alaska. Fair loud and clear at times, rising up above others on 1290 including KPAY Chico, CA and KUMA Pendleton, OR. I've heard KGVO here a time or two before but it was somewhat weak.. this was pretty clear!

You're rockin' it Paul! KGYN rarely makes it to WA nowadays...let alone AK! KHAT is always too strong. I'll have to check the dials before bed.
I wonder if KOKC can make it up there (or is there too much KKXA)? Let alone WBAP (can KCBF be nulled out?)

Another MT to look for is KBOW-550 Butte with country music. But is Anchorage too strong to phase down?
