KTXN Jack FM Victoria Transmitter problem?

It sounds fine on 98.7 but when you go to 98.9, 98.5 a loud buzz is heard, also I can hear it over sunny 99.1 also.

I can, on my Sangean analog radio does the same as my Sangean HD radio.

I know the HDR-14 can bleedover pretty bad. Especially if the signal is really strong and it’s heard 2 frequencies up. Especially if that 2 frequencies up is empty. I often hear 94.5 on 94.9 on that radio but weak. And some nights in some spots 97.1 will be strong on 97.5 over KFNC

I'm in Victoria right now and there's definitely something wrong with 98.7. It's throwing hash all over that part of the dial and making the 98.1 translator and 99.5 LPFM pretty much unlistenable.

I think KTXN is back to normal. I hear it at my location north of Houston again

I am driving through victoria now I mean I like jack fm but how long can they broadcast like this?

Is there any audio or video of this? It’s got me curious, I haven’t really heard the station since I worked in Victoria back in October of 2015

It's bleeding onto adjacent channels. My buddy down in Bay City says it's bleeding clear down to 97.9, audible underneath KBXX. Can hear it in random quiet spots in The Box's audio.

The facility appears to be in some sort of maintenance limbo, with the locally based Broadcast Equities not addressing this particular issue. The facility is already operating on STA. The license itself is awaiting approval to transfer KTXN over to Townsquare, after they agreed to purchase it. Once it's in their hands, you can be assured it will be remedied. That's Townsquare. They maintain their assets down here very well.

Until then, well, you're dealing with a mom and pop. It may be awhile. Cross your fingers that the divestiture process moves quickly.

Wellll I hate to be that guy, buuuuuuut, while what you said about town square might be true, that certainly hasn’t been the case since KLTD 101.7 has been flipped from KRock to Spanish, when it was first la grande it seems like they couldn’t keep the transmitter at full power, and now as them being juan fm their processing to me sounds awful, like they’re using an audio processor from wish.com! They’ve really drove that station into the ground in my opinion. And hell! Their RDS still shows K-Rock!!! Two years and they still haven’t updated that part?

They dont up in Wyoming.

Took them 2-3 weeks to get the AM back on after a water pipe burst over the transmitter room.
The FM was back on with an automation computer at the tower 2 days later.

Their AM is on 1290.... theres another AM 1/4 mile away on 1210.. neither haver filtering for each other..... 1210 spews all kinds of crap that bothers 1290 and townsquare, despite me having several conversations about it with their regional engineer.. didnt do anything about it
