Raul Brindis fired?

I'm assuming that the "delay" in closing was set at a maximum and allows sooner action if possible.

And likely they will not spend a penny more on production until the sale closes.
I've been told that SBS (and SEC filings concur) that SBS will not take control of KROI now until around July 1, 2024.

at this point everyone know paola from oye in mexico will be the new Female talent but please David do tell us what Univision would continue to run Raul on the radio when he has already deleted all the univision stuff from his social media. I can see that the company is still posting on this Facebook.

Keep guessing!

Why does it matter that much to some of you? There is usually a valid or understandable reason behind these decisions (contractual obligations with the show and/or advertisers likely being the culprit).

It doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things at this point.
well, he asked a question and I'm curious on the answer.

Guess we will be seeing an extension request on the sale consummation filed with the FCC on or before January 10, 2024. I’ve seen these done for 90 days in the past; is that a standard or will the FCC grant something longer, ~180 days in the case of KROI?

Still think there is a possibility of an LMA, but were I RO/SST I would want at least a couple more of those seven digit payments from SBS in the bank before accepting such an arrangement.

There will not be an LMA. To my knowledge, the last time SBS took control of a station before a sale closed was 1996 with the purchase of WPAT-FM. SBS took over WPAT in January and the sale closed in around March, I believe.

ok no more guesses left. why do they continue to air his pre-recorded show?
I have no inside knowledge of this, but considering the show has other syndicated clearances there are likely obligations to clear the show for time being. Nobody is going to launch a new show the week before and after Christmas so feeding best-ofs until end of the year is my assumption.

i was wondering why Radioinsight has not posted anything about Brindis no longer being with Univision.

Maybe because I do not have enough verified information to publish something yet.
It has also been alleged by a few on this board that he has a history of quitting and then coming back after cooling off. Anyone who is in the know should understand why you don't want to report on a story that has the potential of leaving you holding the bag. Until you get an official statement from TelevisaUnivision, it seems wise to hold off on reporting anything.

Officially, everything has been hush on both sides, which does raise the question if there is a slight chance of him coming back? Stranger things have happened.

Given Raúl's ratings issues and Univision being about to premiere a shiny new morning co-host in January, I'm leaning on him leaving KLAT and KROM.

The fact is with Univision having a well-established Regional Mexican national morning show, he's somewhat redundant, and only worth keeping for the ratings he got in his local South Texas markets. Without those, he's probably not worth the effort of retaining just for those markets.

His show is (was) delivered in Spanish, yet he posts this comforting message to his listeners in English.

🤔
This is a warm fuzzy sentiment that's been passed around so often in Hallmark cards that even Raúl's Spanish-dominant audience understands it at this point.

Which leads me to wonder if his audience would also be willing to follow him to a soon to launch English talk station owned by an individual familiar with Brindis?
