Low power applications in SC

That one 100w signal for Greenville is actually in Reidville, doesn’t look like the signal will even make it to Greer. It might affect 96.3 being an adjacent in the immediate area but any impact would probably be negligible.

The 92.1 signal is going to be in the Berea area to the west of 25.

Please no more low power stations interfering with full power stations from Charlotte, Columbia, or Atlanta. Dial is overcrowed and out of town signals are being reduced. 107.9 from Charlotte used to be clear in most of Greenville County. Now bad interference from an LPFM which seems to be increasingly overpowered. Same with 105.3. And used to be you could pull in 97.1 from Atlanta.

The upstate dial is absolutely trashed on almost every frequency. It’s one of the worst I’ve seen for a market of this size. I know all (or most) of this is legal, but it’d be nice if LPFM’s and translators stopped popping up all the time. The initial translators like 97.7 Chuck FM and X-98.5 were nice to have back when they signed on in 2012, but so many have signed on since then it’s terrible. One thing about the translators specifically is they’re all perched up on Paris Mountain, so they’re generally running the max 250 watts but also have very high antennas vs. an area like Charlotte or Columbia.
