Oh my gosh, you’re right! I did enjoy The Edge on 102.1 KDGE-HD2, although I didn’t listen as often to it as Alt 103.7 or 88.1 indie. My one pet peeve about The Edge is that they didn’t show the old logo on HD radios, the default logo was the iHeart logo. After a few years, IHeart has changed the format of KDGE-HD2 to “Magic,” which is some English/Spanish-language AC hybrid. I prefer my alternative, but it’s a good break from Christmas music I guess.
The only part I didn’t care about 102.1 HD2 The Edge (never got a chance to listen to the original Edge) was when they added the generic iHeart voice tracks. I may be wrong, but I believe they were jockless for quite some time. I know it’s an HD2 only station, but I’d rather have no voice tracks than generic ones. Same goes for The Eagle on 97.1 HD2.That's what I figured. I'm really hoping this is just a holidays thing, but I doubt it.
One of the qualities of The Edge I liked was while most other IHeart alternative stations played Out of Order on Sunday evenings, The Edge and WJRR-HD3 would play songs that wouldn't normally be played on the master log. WJRR-HD3 would focus more on underground stuff while The Edge focused on more 90s alternative such as Cake, Jane's Addiction and Gin Blossoms.
Alright, rant over.
i think this means IHeart must be getting rid the KDGE calls soon and maybe The Edge calls and IPs to someone else to revive the Edge. i laugh if that happens and the legendary KVIL calls get retired and 103.7 becomes "The Edge" with the KDGE calls too.

By far the best version of “The Edge” was its original incarnation on 94.5 in the early 1990s. Very refreshing playlist in comparison to other rock stations that were falling into a rut at the time. Is that what you are referring to?(never got a chance to listen to the original Edge)
The KEGL calls already have the E and G in there to match an “Edge” branding.97.1 the edge
I think that’s exactly what’s going to happenI guess three alternative stations were too many. Lol. I am quite surprised that they pulled a 0.2 on an HD2 only signal with no promotion and streaming. It would’ve been neat if iHeart could’ve resurrected the Edge as a classic alternative and see what would’ve happened. Maybe if iHeart could’ve gotten a couple translators.
103.7 had a local hour a few years back. Hosted by Mark Schectman of “Adventure Club.” They gave up on that in 2021. Let KXT promote the locals, they can take the risk. Also, 103.7 is doing their own Edgefest with “Alterium.” I don’t see them bothering with Edge branding.Maybe Alt could bring back "Edgefest" or the "Adventure Club." Who knows?
