Raul Brindis fired?

Which leads me to wonder if his audience would also be willing to follow him to a soon to launch English talk station owned by an individual familiar with Brindis?
Not at all. Regional Mexican listeners are heavily Spanish-dominant, so they will want to listen to talk programs like Brindis in Spanish. They may have enough English knowledge to get by on the job, but not for listening to talk in English.

His show is (was) delivered in Spanish, yet he posts this comforting message to his listeners in English.

🤔
So? He's bilingual, as are many of his listeners.

That's not the reason. The difference is that a huge percentage of Spanish dominants are first generation immigrants and, while they may be legal residents, they are not citizens and not involved in the subjects that talk stations discuss which almost always have to do with government and elected officials.

Add in the fact that, per a relatively recent study by the Mexican consulates in the Southwest, the immigrant population has barely a 6th grade education among males and somewhat less among women. This group did not listen to talk radio in Mexico and won't listen in the U.S. either.

this discussion is great. How someone only a few years ago was on top and now is not even the bottom but out.

Not sure why no official statement about the show is out for the public. Do know, studio personal belongins were remove. His personal equipment were removed. All logos labels graphics neon sign in studio were removed. His producer was removed. Both of them Escorted out of the building. Thats pretty hard and low especially what and how much money he brought into but it is what it is. I was expecting another year or two or simply a good riddance show and goodbye but it seems the company didnt even want to that chance. Probably should of done that last year.
What sucks is the rest of the team. They are left high and dry. If you have a team, you got to make sure you got them as much as they got you. If he is gone, those other guys have nothin. He has and will continue making money but the other guys already struggling, pretty much they are done and dont see anything for them at the company. Thats on him.

No different than TV shows, both network and syndicated. Some are cases where money is spent, a crew is assembled and the show is never picked up. Some are "picked up" but are cancelled part way through the season, others get a full season and no renewal. Then some do several seasons. A few go ten or more seasons, but even Friends or Mash or Big Bang ended after a while and all the crew had to move on.

This is something that happens in the general field of entertainment, whether local DJs and morning shows and news anchors or national TV shows, recording artists, stand-up comedians or any kind of entertainer.

this is absolutely the company not renewing his contract...the years of him renewing the contract was likely the company giving him a chance to fix or else. obviously it did not work out.
Was he under contract for many years under one year contracts that were renewed at the end of the year? Up until last summer, the ratings of KLTN and his show were not a problem that needed to be fixed, so if that were the case, that was definitely the perfect set up for them to have the option to not renew his contract at the end of the year in the event his show stopped performing well.

Assuming that were the case, then given the often discussed PPM panel imbalances that have recently affected the Houston market, I feel they may have given him the benefit of the doubt and renewed his contract for one more year at the end of last year, but chose not to renew at the end of this year given the ratings had still not improved (even with the company allegedly stepping in to change the format of the show to include more music).

Seems more official now, they haven’t even mentioned Raul Brindis show at all. And are just playing music. Not even reruns today.

I don't know why they haven't announced the BMF show moving to mornings, especially with the big announcement of the new "Mala" on the 4th.

Heard the BMF show today on WOJO. The new Mala is indeed Paola Sasso and they just promoted the fact that they're live in the morning in Houston.

And now, to see where Brindis ends up...

How many months do we have to wait until he gets a job at some crappy "competitor" to Estereo Latino?

1. The station is no longer Estereo Latino and has not been in a while.
2.he has a lucrative offer from a podcasting company .. Raul has a non-compete but he can do digital platforms so he will stream and do podcasts for a bit while he sits out.
He has enough money to be ok for a good while. He did however for the time being lose his fb.

I've read on Twitter that BMF is also airing live on KGBT in the Rio Grande Valley. You'd think that station is under no obligation to air the show in mornings, as they are no longer an Univision station.
