Audacy removed The Oasis from 103.7 HD2 today and moved Channel Q from 103.7 HD3 to 103.7 HD2. The HD3 subchannel has been shut off. There haven’t been any other noticeable changes to other Audacy HD subchannels in DFW.

No news on if Audacy is planning on adding KRLD to 103.7 HD3, 107.5 HD3 or any of their HD4’s…

I'm actually surprised there was an Audacy station that was carrying Smooth Jazz on an HD subchannel in Dallas. I thought most Audacy musical subchannels had gone away last year except for the LGBTQ service "Channel Q."

On the Audacy app and website, there's still a Dallas Oasis channel. Just as there is a Houston Wave channel and a V98.7 Detroit channel. But when you click them, you get Audacy's standard "Soundscapes" smooth jazz service.

Soundscapes sounds good, by the way! Nice choice of smooth jazz instrumentals with an occasional vocal. But there are no liners or identifications with former CBS-owned Smooth Jazz stations. The announcer simply says "You're listening to Soundscapes on Audacy.com."

Listening to music OTA anywhere has become futile. I only listen to music on Sunday Morning on KNON to hear gospel music on my way to Community Missionary Baptist Church of Desoto & Cedar Hill.

One place where HD radios could still come in handy is when the HD subchannel is used to feed a translator. The HD subchannel just might get more range.

Back in 2022 I was listening to the St. George/Cedar City rock/alternative station “96X” on 101.5 HD2 on the way to Las Vegas. It got way more range than the translator it fed.

I just don't understand why so many of the stations are doing this with HD. The promise of HD on FM was "the stations between the stations" - the extra programming you could get with HD. I've had a spreadsheet that's kept track of them. But now it's just sad.

The Oasis lasted in this market for a very long time. It started on 106.1 in the late 80s. If I recall correctly, it then moved to 107.5 a few years later. Then moved to streaming, then on to HD. But it's been around for a very long time. I suppose its still there on streaming, but I listened on my HD radio. Just seems like a format that should be on the air here.

I agree. They are taking the hatchet to radio here in Dallas. I’m having to go to other cities and listen to their streams. I had opt to 96.9 out of Palm Springs. It’s amazing. I listened to 106.1 then to 107.5 then to 103.7 all the time. Someone definitely needs to pick up the format. Sad, all you hear is talk and garbage. They need to gear what’s left of radio to age groups that actually listens to radio. You’re alienating them by pulling music formats for talk. Here is hoping the format finds a new home here in Dallas.

There is no 96.9 in Palm Springs. That is just one channel off of full Class A KUNA, the #1 station in the market.

No Oasis in Dallas...but there's still a 103.7 the Oasis (// KOAZ 1510), and they are going on 12 years strong in Albuquerque, NM. AMAZING station.
