Tonight is the second evening in a row that I've noticed 1120 KPNW running just an open carrier, no audio. Not that I'm pining for their usual programming, but I thought DXers might see an opportunity to dig out the stations KPNW usually obliterates with their 50kw. At 0458 UTC they ran PSAs, Fox news and probably an hour's worth of local spots before blanking out to OC again at 0513. Still silent now at 0537.

Not good for a station that is supposed to be Oregon's primary entry point for the emergency alert system!
Actual;ly, the EAS will still function. THe problem here is the automation appears to not be switching to the program feed of whatever talk show trheyre supposed to carry. That is entirely seperate from the EAS and the EA should still function.. its the last thing in the air chain before the the transmitter
