Former WILD AM 1090 DJ and Former owner of Skippy White Record Store Skippy White has a new radio show on Boston Community radio station 102.9 WBCA every Sunday afternoon stating at 6 PM.

WZBR 1410 is silent, right? They have an FM translator in Medford: "W251CR-FM 98.1 MHz Medford, Massachusetts
"The Urban Heat"-- radiolocator

Supposedly that is silent too.
Maybe it exists as a site and stream..

WZBR went silent 3-5-23. Owned by the late Alex Langer.

Actually there are 3 stations on 102.9,
all low power FMs. They are on at different times. WBCA LP is 6 pm to 2 am I think. There's also one for Lasell College, WLAS-LP, (10am-6 pm) and one for a church.
WBPG-LP Dorchester (2-10 am)

If the FM translator for WZBR and WZBR itself don't return to air they could lose license after one year of silence. Went silent 3-5.

“The Urban Heat” was only on 1410/98.1 WZBR for a very short time. 98.1 doesn’t cover Boston at all. For some reason they kept the “98.1” in their name all this time later.

Formerly co-owned 650 AM WSRO and its 102.1 FM translator in Framingham came back on the air yesterday, playing recorded classic jazz music. I assume this is to keep the license active, as the FCC could have deleted it in a few weeks. I don't know who just put it back on the air since former owner Alex Langer's passing almost a year ago.

650 AM is broadcasting in the digital-only platform it was in before the shutdown at Langer's passing, requiring an HD radio to hear it, though Langer's last format on it was classical music. Langer had aired jazz on it before, when it broadcast in analog. The FM translator is still, and has always been, analog only.

Langer also aired jazz on 1410/98.1 WZBR both before the brokered arrangement with "The Urban Heat", and after it ended, until his passing. (WZBR did not air the classical format that was on WSRO). WZBR has not (yet) returned to the air. Its licenses could also be deleted in a few weeks if it doesn't.

Someone posted this on FB New England Radio Stations group:

>>I was listening to WHRB and I heard an ID that said WZBR Dedham. Anyone know what's up with that?

As said above it has been silent close to a year, 1410 w translator on 98.1..
but WHRB is 95.3....

Yes. This afternoon sounded like a woman was summarizing an opera on 95.3 and 98.1 had same thing mixed with country (New Bedford) and Spanish
lang. Christian (WGUA Lawrence)
