Dennis Prager gets WHK to move

I know I said this in a prior thread, but a radio station should try to avoid breaking format in one of the most important dayparts—if not THE most important daypart—to run an hour-long financial infomercial.
The financial infomercial isn't even live, it's recorded earlier in the morning. They could air it at 10:00 pm and give Gorka his first hour back.

I can see the client not wanting to by a nighttime slot, when WHK's signal is hampered. I'll guess that putting the financial show in the 10pm hour, WHK would have to sell the block for (maybe substantially) less than they get with it running from 3:06 - 4:00 p.m.

OOPS. "by" should be "buy".

Salem is clearly interested in broadcasting propaganda as well. The owners do have an agenda as well as a profit-making motive.
Pushing an agenda regardless of profit has always been the main goal of Salem's conservatalkers. It's been WHK's MO since July 2004. Again, ratings and profit do not and should not be mattering here when they are pushing a political agenda.

That's what makes this brokering out of afternoon drive rather odd. Apparently they can't subsidize the station like they used to through profits from WHKW and the Fish, or from brokering out the weekends.
If Salem is that desperate for cash, perhaps they need to sell the station.
Who would want it? Relevant Radio? BBN? VCY? And it's probably not even worth $750K.

Relevant would be the lesser of those 3 evils

So, what if you have two entities wanting the same time slot? Does WHK contact an auctioneer...."who'll give me $200-200-250, I've got $300, $300. Do I hear $350, $350, anyone, $350, got $350....$400, $400.....SOLD! To the guy with the deeper pockets!" Anything they do, is gonna crank off one or the other. Or do they peddle it off to WHKW or do a KIng Solomon and split everything in half and just play a mish-mash of each every other hour?

I'd definitely love a second Catholic talk station.

EWTN is milque toast-y bland and preachign to the choir.... Relevant is a bit more lively.

Here's what should happen at WHK. I am likely to share this with them in a snail-mail letter or on-line.

FROM NOON UNTIL 3:00 PM, AIR ALL OF THE SHOWS LIVE. Air "The Dennis Prager Show" LIVE from noon until 2:00 pm. Then, air "The Charlie Kirk show" LIVE from 2:06pm - 3:00pm.
Here are rationales:

* It's always better to hear things live, particularly news/talk shows, than hearing them pre-recorded.

* Listeners can, realistically, call-in to "The Dennis Prager Show" and take part in the discussions.

* If something catastrophic happens in the nation or world, during the time that these shows are on the air LIVE, the occurrences can be covered, immediately, in real-time. That would be a much better service than to hear about them an hour or hours later.

On the WHK program guide on their website, they have Dennis Prager listed from noon-2 pm and Charlie Kirk from 2-3 pm. So perhaps that is their plan. Maybe another thing they could do is air Sebastian Gorka's first hour at 6 pm and move the Sekulow infomercial to 10 pm. That way, Gorka's entire show would at least be contiguous.

Your idea seems like a sound one. However, would Sekulow's organization be willing to pay to have their show run close to the "graveyard shift"?

It's unfortunate if people are listening to Dennis Prager and Charlie Kirk for objective news reporting......they arent journalists and are known to spin and twist the facts

They are not news reporters, they are talk show hosts. I stand particularly by Dennis Prager as he almost always backs up his claims with data and facts. He'll often start a discussion of with,,, "From yesterdays (name of newspaper/website, or whatever).

i will suggest this as i do to all my friends on either side of the coin, and a rurle i operate KSKO with.... look for 2 credible sources before you believe it.. and in this case, find a mainstream source from someone on the other side of the political aisle.

The presentation may be different and the slant will be different, but if one of them is vastly different.. one of them is lying.

Thank you for the ideas. Unfortunately, many mainstream media sources can no longer be trusted. Whenever there is a mainstream source that questions something, Mr. Prager will, quickly, bring it up. One of the areas of "no longer be trusted" comes when the mainstream media just won't, or fails to, report some things that don't fit their overall agenda.

Salem and prager have an agenda too, one that may align with newsmax and oann but not CNN or MSNBC
