Mount Baldy KAPX-LP

Besides the new Berkeley area LPFM, the Mount Baldy one must have the greatest coverage of any I have seen so far.. To be on 97.7 . It will reach most of Ontario.

KAPX-LP is listed on that link as 105.5. Where did you get the 97.7 reference from? That seems unlikely as KLYY 97.5 is channel adjacent - way too close within that same market.

105.5 is interesting as well. A station in Beaumont (KXRS) has been granted a CP to move from 105.7 to 105.5 as a full power class A with a signal that essentially reaches Ontario

That thing is going to get shredded by KBUE and the CP for KXRS. They have hard terrain on most sides of them, but there is a little bit of "leakage" off the mountain, which may play some havoc with KBUE in some areas possibly.

I am Familiar with the area, I use that route to go to Sunset Ridge all the time. If the TX location is where I think it is, it will not get to Ontario too many hills. Will make the effort to listen when it is built.

Remember, a whole bunch of the Ontario to Fontana fothills communities are neither in the LA nor the Inland Empire Nielsen markets.

In the TV analog days Sunset Ridge was the home of Chs 18, 30, and 56. It was always a mystery why ch 24 chose Box Spring Mtn instead of Sunset. Sunset sees virtually all of the IE, and almost all of the LA Metro with the notable exception of the northern two thirds of the SFV.

Very Familiar with the burned old Ch 18 building, my Ham stuff has black dust all over it. When I came into the building 20 years ago there was about 5 antennas on that 200 foot tower and 3 of them were mine. Now there are 200 antennas and miles of cable. But no FM transmitters on Sunset.

Unless they would have force KBUE from 105.5 FM to 94.3 FM to make room for KXRS on 105.5 FM it would avoid the interference of KUBE there's no other choice
