95.3 MHz is overshadowed here in Melbourne FL by local WFKS 95.1

Wilmington Delaware
WHGE Wilmington - A very low power (50W) station that caters to the African American community. It signed on a few years ago and only reaches about 5 miles from the transmitter. I'm within that radius but the station vanishes quickly heading any direction from Wilmington. During TROPO WKDB in Laurel DE will override WHGE with Spanish Hits.

Denver, CO (near the Aurora border, which is important in this case) -
A so-so signal from K237GG //810 KLVZ(AM) Brighton. Currently it's 65 watts from Lookout Mountain west of Denver, which means the signal starts sputtering out in locations east of downtown Denver (such as mine). Crawford has a CP to increase power to 99 watts, which it can accomplish by reducing the power of co-owned K236CQ from 250 to 150 watts. So there may be a slight improvement in K237GG reception when these changes are implemented. The parent AM station is running HD. The format is oldies/classic rock with the target demographic appearing to be 65 to 80. (I'm serious here; not being sarcastic.) On "Legends 95.3", a doo-wop act may well be followed by Bachman-Turner Overdrive followed by Patrick Hernandez. I'd call it a glorious train wreck except that it seems to be quite intentional. What seems to keep the station afloat are weekend brokerage talk shows and scattered brokered programming during the week.

This is KWLL Gilmer, the eastern half of Educational Radio Foundation of East Texas' "The Well", a Christian teaching format. Since it moved towers, I've lost quite a lot of strength from the "local" 95.3. Usually pretty weak, with KHYI NW of DFW sneaking in with country on occasion.

No nearby licensed stations, but I got one station during tropo. It happened on 07/06/2023 when I received WHFM Southampton, NY. WHFM is a simulcast of Classic Rock station 102.3 WBAB Babylon, NY.

Variable, poor to fair signal from KXLE Ellensburg now that they have moved to Manastash Ridge at 1.7KW. K237GY Prosser (KZXR-AM) still mixes with them and causes a lot of picket fencing in town. In Selah, KXLE is quite dominant.
Before Prosser came on, I could get an occasional KPND ID or CKZZ BC via tropo scatter. Finally heard K237DP Kennewick (U-ROCK) up in the Cascades a few years back.
Several E-skip logs on 95.3 as well. Noteworthy is KZJH Jackson WY, the second-shortest Es log I've ever made at 526 miles (tied with KJAX-93.5 heard the same night in July 2015).
In fact, my next trip to Montana could put me within 60 miles of Jackson and the WY border. After 3 days in the Missoula area, I plan on looping down to Salmon, east to Idaho Falls, and back north to Dillon/Butte. Idaho Falls is just an hour's drive from the WY border.

Outside of an occasional appearance from KHCA/Wamego, it’s a blank frequency locally, having KICT and KLBG on adjacent channels. I may have picked up KINZ/Humboldt before during tropo, though my memory is hazy. Have yet to receive KWKN/WaKeeney.

From the times I’ve caught them, I’ve never listened to them for very long. I believe part of their programming is satellite fed, standard classic hits, though don’t quote me on that. I’ll have to check them out next time I’m in the area. They are locally owned.

Nothing around Columbus, Ohio, next door to local WXMG "Magic 95.5." That was country giant WHOK for years but has carried an urban contemporary format for several years.
WXMG transmits from Lancaster, about 15 miles southeast of me. 21,000 watts from 1,700+ feet above sea level gets out very well.
Not far west of metro Columbus, classic rocker WZLR from Xenia starts to break through. It's directional to the west, toward Dayton. I first heard it when it was the southern half of the "Kool 95" oldies simulcast along with WCLR on 95.7, now WHIO-FM.

In the Wilkes-Barre(Northeast PA) area, it's W237DP, a translator for WAZL 730 in Nanticoke, playing a Hispanic music format under the "Ritmo FM" branding. It is one of the three translators that serves our region, one of them being 94.9 which covers the Scranton area. Prior to this, it was "Mega 95" with the same format before being bought out by Audacy and moving it to what was then "Max 102.3", and then was re-broadcasting "Gem 104" oldies format for a number of years. FYI: Both Gem 104(now 99 & 100), and Ritmo FM are owned by the same company.
