The Freak improved by 0.1 in the 6+, we can reduce laughing at the station's expense by that amount.

KLNO has done very well as long as I've paid attention, they're definitely the dominant Spanish-speaking station in the market and they're beating nearly all of the English stations. 1st or tied for 1st in the advertising demos is impressive.

KVIL has really cornered the rock market in Dallas and is respectable overall. 3rd in 25-54, 3rd in 18-34, 3rd in 18-49. Good Audacy success story.

Hard to believe this is the same station that edited out guitar solos.

I'm still amazed at how well KRNB is doing despite its signal limitations.
Prolly because they emphasize the app as an alternative to the lack of a Cedar Hill stick.

I thought streaming was listed separately in the PPM’s. Or are the ratings able to be combined?

If the stream is a 100% simulcast, including ads, it can be combined in Single Line Reporting. Otherwise, it is separately listed.

It even did well back when "streaming" was riding a kayak down a little river.

La Que Buena tied with The Ticket at #1 is impressive.

Star isn't doing too bad. KLTY still got it. Jack beating Kiss is impressive too (even if the playlist is somewhat identical to Spot). Country isn't dominating as much this time around. Alt is still going strong. Mix is doing alright too. Fudge...I mean Freak is meh.

I haven't looked at these ratings lately but seeing KERA-FM leading the News/Talk format (as NPR) over WBAP and KRLD is just wow!

Hope KRNB will one day switch to a Cedar Hill stick.

Funny how a PD change with an actual strategy to capture the market can change things. Also, they don’t edit out guitar solos anymore. A few Audacy Alts still do that; KVIL doesn’t. They know who butters their bread and my guess is they have the Audacy Active Rock versions of specific song files ready to play instead of the Alt mixes.

I was referring that to the heyday of the 80s AC days

Yes, and KRNB has always done well in the parts of town near Cedar Hill where the demographics for it are perfect. This north/south transmitter argument is getting old. Cedar Hill sticks are weak in McKinney, and can't be heard in Sherman/Dennison. Northern sticks are weak in Waxahatchie. So what? It makes zero difference to the 7 or 8 million people in the target area. However, the population continues to expand to the north.

They also don’t edit out “goddamn” in Panic at the Disco - I Write Sins Without Tragedies and Harvey Danger - Flagpole Sitta. I wonder if the other Audacy Alts do?

IIRC, the stations who call themselves “(Insert City Here)‘s Alternative” edit “goddamn”, edit harsh/unclean vocals (except Linkin Park for whatever reason), and edit out guitar solos in legacy songs… in other words they still use the 2020-22 Audacy Alt mixes that were made while Mike Kaplan was the format overseer for Audacy.

The ones who have legacy branding (KROQ, KNDD, KITS) do not edit out “goddamn”, harsh vocals, or guitar solos. KVIL is a unique case because they use the same font and logo as the generic Audacy Alt stations but they brand themselves as “DFW’s Alternative Rock”, the only Audacy to do so. This means they subtly have a different branding and positioning compared to the other stations in Audacy’s portfolio. Editing guitar solos out isn’t a good look for any station branding themselves as “rock”!

EDIT: It should be noted that every Audacy station I’ve caught playing Bad Omens’ “The Death Of Peace Of Mind” keeps the screamed bridge in full regardless of branding. Similarly, the guitar solo in Pearl Jam’s “Dark Matter” also seems to be left alone. It’s likely that this only applies to legacy song files in their respective playlists.

Is KVIL the station that drastically cut the already-shortened guitar solo on the single version of Elvin Bishop's "Fooled Around and Fell in Love?"

Unusual to me, since Elvin Bishop, despite being the artist of record/title, was the guitarist on that song and not the vocalist.
