New York Jets radio to WAXQ Q104.3 for the 2024 season as ESPN 98.7 signs off later this year.

For Thanksgiving weekend last year the Jets played vs. the Miami Dolphins at MetLife Stadium on Black Friday 11/24/2023 (game time was 3 PM ET). The game was streamed via Amazon Prime Video.
While the Jets have petitioned the league to host that particular day's game in the future, no final decision has been announced yet.
The 2024 NFL Schedule will likely be announced in early May.
I'm sure that Amazon Prime would want to continue to "streamcast" an NFL game on Black Friday (whether the Jets are involved or not) being as it surely was a perfect way to promote their platform at a most opportune moment.
Of course, the NFL enjoyed receiving $100 million from Amazon Prime for the rights to that game alone!
As for Q104.3: they'll just start the Top 1043 Countdown at least 7 hours earlier than they normally
would to compensate for the (traditionally) 2 hour pregame and 3+ hour game and 2 hour post-game.
(To be determined if the pre- and post-game shows remain at those lengths or get trimmed.)
In actuality, they should start the countdown earlier in any event since it sometimes
ends well after Midnight ET on the Monday morning following Thanksgiving.

Now look at WMTR, they got the Knicks and Rangers games when it’s still an oldies station, and “Doo-Wop Drive” has been moved to either day occasionally, but not heard due to either Knicks or Rangers game which is completely frustrating, but it’s on Friday nights at a normal time right after “Doo-Wop Dream Machine” on WRCR which is part of a “Doo-Wop Double Feature” with Bob Trivero in the first half, and Allan David Stein in the second half. Instead of 3 hours, it brings to a total of 5 hours of nothing but doo-wop music, now that’s something.

Always a fun day especially when the leaks start already that morning.
When Christmas doesn't fall on a weekend or a weekday that the NFL usually plays, sports fans are always left with slim pickings: either the NBA or prerecorded fluff like dog shows and figure skating exhibitions.
As much as it was cool seeing MNF so frequently on ABC this past season, I think it's a one-off due to the Hollywood strikes & we'll revert back to seeing numerous weeks where its ESPN exclusives & it'd keep the cable/satellite providers happy too. As for the leaks, they could even come out the day or even days before, just look to trusted sources on social media (ie team reporters or those on the beat for teams) if you can't wait for the release to know what games your team is playing.
Or they could read a book? 🤷🏻
Yea tue/wed seem out but 2026 christmas is friday i would be shocked if they dont play then.
Na its something to have on in the background on christmas while with family/relatives then watch after we eat.
Besides if a book is good ill just wait for the movie/tv show.

Anything other than rhythmic music (in either English or Spanish) or religion would have a lot of people here eating crow.
I’m thinking WOR or WABC simulcast or a Direct competitor for Q104.3 with a little alternative sprinkled in. Or someone takes another try with Country
You can count out a WOR simulcast, iHeart is at ownership limits. Idk if Cats is going to pay what Emmis wants for 98.7. The rock station is also extremely unlikely. What operator do you think would buy it to run Rock on it?
Anything that isn't ethnic or religious would greatly surprise me at this point.
Once again it depends on who the buyer is. Because we don't see people with spare money buying stations on a whim.
Audacy and iHeart are at their limits in NY, and both are coming out of bankruptcy. There are no other non-religious buyers.
