March PPM's

WMGK dropped 0.6 and is still quite dominant at #1. The #2 station, WDAS-FM, rose 0.7 but is still a full point off the pole position. WMMR slid 0.7 to 7.3—good for third place. These moves, like almost everything else in the book, are just statistical noise. They are basically meaningless.

What I suppose could be considered semi-interesting is that there’s a full one-and-a-half point gap between the #3 and #4 finishers—KYW and B101, which are tied with 5.8.

This is all just yada yada: Most stations remained extremely stable compared to last month. Unless I’m missing something, WIP-FM’s stream jumping from 2.0 to 3.2 is probably the most interesting thing in these beauty pageant numbers. #yawn

Maybe there will be something of interest to read over at Hot Topics | Research Director, Inc. tomorrow afternoon.

EDIT: I just noticed that BEN-FM ever-so-slightly edged out WOGL this month. I can't recall whether that's ever happened. It is, as I said, ever so slight...but if it's the start of a trend, I can't say I'm not interested in watching it.

Ben has occasionally edged out WOGL in the vanity 6+ numbers before, but they usually give it up in a month or two and never take a commanding lead or anything.

I'm interested in WPPZ's rise. I tune in occasionally and enjoy what I hear, but I'm not a regular listener. Are they doing anything different recently to power their pretty good numbers?

Whenever I happen upon WPPZ, I usually like what I hear. I don't hear them enough to really comment on any changes they may have made. What I will comment on is their website. And the comment is: Atrocious.

Yeah. Radio One's station website template really REALLY could use a refresh.

I wonder how the philly radio stations rank in terms of billing. WMMR and WBEB are probably at the top with WDAS, WOGL and WMGK not far behind

I believe DavidEduardo has stated that the top 3 are easily KYW, WBEB, and WMMR with a bit of a drop off after them. (I could be wrong and/or outdated with that info though)
