FM Frequency of the Week: 96.7

KOYE Frankston "La Invasora 96.7 y 107.9" which is a local.

East Tennessee: WMYL "Merle 96.7" locally owned but also-ran Country station, Halls, TN, rimshotting Knoxville.

Retro/other: I once worked at a 96.7, WCSM-FM, Celina, OH. At the time it was 940 watts on a short tower. It has moved towers a couple of times, and I believe it got help, I think for the WENS, Shelbyville IN move-in to Indianapolis. After sign-off I had gotten what was then WAXT, Alexandria IN and WUFM, Albion MI.

Clifton, New Jersey

I get WARW Port Chester, NY. Currently, Air1 is on analog and HD1, K-Love 2000's on HD2, and Radio Nueva Vida on HD3.

Retro: For many years, 96.7 was located in Stamford, CT under various call letters and formats. In May 2011, it relocated to Port Chester, NY and became WKLV-FM "K-Love". In July 2019, it flipped to WMKQ briefly, followed by WARW "Air1".

Wilmington Delaware

Normally just some splatter from 96.5 WTDY Philadelphia but WCEI Easton MD is just to my SW and covers most of Delaware except the most NE and SE parts. I hear it frequently on warm humid summer evenings.

Denver, CO - Nothing; caught between a local on 96.5 and a translator on 96.9. You will hear mentions of 96.7 KNDH Carbondale, CO on the Denver airwaves: it's a repeater for Colorado Public Radio's "Indie 102.3", KVOQ and KNDH is ID'ed at TOH.

KTCK-FM-Sports Radio 96.7/1310 The Ticket.

Nutley, NJ usually WARW Port Chester, NY (20 miles)
Tropo: W244EE (WOBM translator) Asbury Park, NJ (40 Miles)
Caught 96.7 from the Outer Banks when it was Hip Hop during the Summer of 2010

Prior to 2011: Former WCTZ Stamford, CT (36 Miles)

It's a very interesting frequency in Manistee, MI. 90% of the time WLXV Cadillac (country) is heard, but the other 10% WBDK Algoma, WI (AC) is heard. Also, WBDK runs HD, with classic country on HD2

Central Kentucky:
Splatter from WGKS Lexington, but if I go 20 miles south, it's WANV, COL Annville KY.

Serves London, Corbin and Somerset areas, with an oldies/classic hits format.

Owned by Forcht ( pronounced "Forked") Broadcasting, a Kentucky based company that owns 24 radio stations in Kentucky, Illinois, and Indiana. Give them credit: They've tried to keep the "local flavor" of these small town stations as much as possible.

Kenosha, WI- Tough frequency for me, sandwiched between local WKLH 96.5 and VERY local WWDV 96.9 (5 miles from me). Most common is WSSR Joliet, SW Chicago area, followed by WKGL Loves Park, IL (Rockford market). WBDL Algoma, WI, and WCOE La Porte, IN show up sporadically.
