Any indication if it was accurate or not?
That time of year in St. Louis, the forecast was probably something like, "humid with a chance for afternoon showers, highs in the lower 80s".

People in Houston talk about the humidity there, but St. Louis can give them a run for their money in the summer!

Owned at the time by St. Louis University - sold in 1955 to "Bruce Barrington" (real name Aubrey Reid), who had been a news analyst for KXOK when the St. Louis Star-Times owned it, working for a time alongside one Paul Aurandt. It was sold again a few years later, and the studios were relocated to what was then Busch Stadium.
