KLVH off the air

Yes I’ve noticed it was off the air a couple of nights ago during the thunderstorm. Last night I was able to hear the freshly relaunched The Eagle out of Dallas. Also heard the 97.1 translator out of Austin.

Also Polk County had mandatory evacuations that night in some areas but not the area where the transmitter is.

More like 20 minutes. It’s back on. Might be cutting in and out so I’ll stop reporting on here.

While it was off I was able to grab KAMD, the Air1 translator in Lake Charles, and super weak WEZB.

Pretty good catch given Camden's 97.1 is a C2 on a, comparatively speaking, pretty short stick.
I guess I should leave comedy to the professionals.

Like Daingerfield, Mark. No respect.

I laughed, for what it's worth. 😉

Thanks! I usually have better luck with the shorter sticks 🙃. I was getting KHKN pretty strong as well last night but I’ve heard them multiple times.

Lol sorry I was in that DX zone and wanted to report it was back on. Also haven’t heard them go off the air since last night.

IIRC there were several C's around the Gulf Coast that had Aux "sites" on the same tower that were "only" 400 or 500 feet high.

When I was stationed at Kessler AFB Biloxi Mississippi both times, sometimes the fog was so bad the Mobile AL and New Orleans FM stations crapped out. Fog also wiped out some TRC 97 line of site shots at Elgin AFB a couple of times during a JCS exercise too. Making a left turn with a turn arrow was scary. You hope the guys in the on coming traffic saw the red light
