True Oldies Channel Going Away - WCBS-FM HD3

And speaking of WCBS-FM’s HD3 channel flipped to Roadblock Radio as of this week, a streaming version is available on TuneIn. I did checked RoadBlock Radio on TuneIn, and it sounds the same as it were on WCBS-FM’s HD3 channel. I’m not too interested in the Caribbean format like reggae or something, but you can hear it for yourself.

A big fan of the true oldies channel. Been listeing for a long time on my HD radio Could WCBS 101.1 create a HD4 station for it? Are there any Oldies music in New York City so I can put my HD radio to use? Would like to see another HD station pick it up.

Folks say, "Just listen to these stations on an app. It's 2024!"

But some drivers don't have cars where you can feed audio from your phone over the speakers. If your car is older or inexpensive, it's not 2024 yet.

And of course, putting a station you'd like to hear on your phone and then getting that on your car speakers takes some steps. You may not want to do this while you are driving. So even if your car is equipped to play your phone over the speakers, it's not like turning on an in-dash radio, punching the button for the station you want and hearing it instantly.
Also if your radio isn't very good it can be a hazard while driving.

Just stream it on the iHeartRadio app. Easy peasy!

Listen to WABC on Saturday nights. You got Vinnie Medugno, Cousin Brucie and Tony Orlando on there. They got some great oldies music than what you hear on the “True Oldies Channel”. The link is down below.

Since I no longer live in the market, can someone describe the quality of HD2-3-4 signal reception in "the City"? I would think the tall buildings play havoc with the lower bit-rate signals.
I used to listen to the OTC on WCBS. FM HD3 until they recently stopped broadcasting on that channel. Anyway to your Q, while we live in Yonkers, we drive into "the City" fairly often and the reception was perfectly fine.
