Omnia One or Orban 5500?

Hello Everyone

I hope you are fine.

There are currently 2nd hand devices for sale in my country.

1. Omnia One FM (2nd hand 1.200€)
2. Orban 5500 (2nd hand 2.200€)

Which one would you recommend for use in FM streaming?

The used Orban has more setting options if drilling-down into the fine-tuning aspects of the sound, while the Omnia One is an extremely capable processor that allows you to get up and running quickly.

Both are very good. As mentioned, there is more flexibility with the Orban, but a lot of people prefer the Omnia sound, so it's a personal preference decision. The fact that the Omnia is nearly half the cost of the Orban, makes the Omnia attractive since it still sounds very good.

If on a budget, you might also consider Stereo Tool running on either a PC, or on a Raspberry PI with a HiFi Berry card. Cosmetically it's nothing to see, but you can get a completely competitive sound for considerably under $1000USD. We have one running here and it is completely comparable, and I think is better than, the high end products from Orban and Telos. Takes a bit more work to get it up and running, but it's rock solid once set up.

Thank you for your message. I am currently using the Omnia e9s computer version. However, I am not happy with the sound. It's like I'm getting a mechanical sound.
