That's surprising. Thanks.I think it's because LA is a larger advertising market than NY.

Some of this is that there are other Iheart O&O's that use the KISS-FM brand for HotAC and CHR stations around the country and the royalties goes to KIIS Los Angeles.Surprising that WHTZ is lower than KIIS with the same format considering how much larger NYC is.
Not really surprising. So huge a percentage of New Yawkers use public transportation and the subway that drive times have vastly less listening than in any other market. So, based on AQH (Average Quarter Hour) persons using radio, LA has higher listening levels and, thus, higher rates. That's surprising. Thanks.
Stations within a company don't pay"royalties" or fees. Companies try to find names they can register and protect, and they use them as much as possible. Some of this is that there are other Iheart O&O's that use the KISS-FM brand for HotAC and CHR stations around the country and the royalties goes to KIIS Los Angeles.
Good point too also KIIS-FM is the flagship station for Ryan Seacrest's radio show that airs on Iheart owned stations. that has to be a factor how KIIS-FM had to be number 2 on the list for highest revenue and yes the part where LA on average have higher listening levels which in turn leads to higher revenue is a factor here.Stations within a company don't pay"royalties" or fees. And the revenue listings are for radio broadcast ad revenue. They don't include streaming revenue (listed separately in BIA) or things like rental of an HD channel or space on their tower.
Again, any revenue obtained by stations carrying Seacrest in other markets does not impact the "radio revenue" in BIA for KIIS. That figure is for pure ad sales on the one station, including, of course, local. promotions and the like but not streaming and web revenue.Good point too also KIIS-FM is the flagship station for Ryan Seacrest's radio show that airs on Iheart owned stations. that has to be a factor how KIIS-FM had to be number 2 on the list for highest revenue and yes the part where LA on average have higher listening levels which in turn leads to higher revenue is a factor here.
Why is that? If NYC is so much larger, how could LA be a bigger advertising market? Is it because of Hollywood?I think it's because LA is a larger advertising market than NY.
