Ace & TJ to afternoons on WKQC

Interesting development, replacing the recently cut Phil and Mel. Until they fix the music, nothing is going to help 104.7 increase very much.
Maybe, but Ace and TJ could never get an interview of Spinal Tap like Bill and Marty did on KBBL:

How does this affect other stations where it is a morning show?
Unchanged. The show is prerecorded. Not sure if they offer a live version or if it’s just recorded the day before like Steve Harvey, John Boy and Billy, etc. A lot of morning shows are moving in that direction. It was on during middays on Kiss, so off time there too.

So you’re saying that radio is not LIVE anymore??

I didn't know John Boy wasn't live.

I’m listening to the debut and it’s actually live today. Not sure if that will be the case moving forward or if it’s just for the first day.

Many syndicated morning shows are recorded, they are delivered by FTP or to a satellite reciever as files.. and then the automation automatically ingests from either source, its so you can play your own music between the yak fests.

I would say that the morning shows recorded the day before is mostly false, some stations might run them on a delay.. and there may be some shows who do some segments, like a comedy bit or phone call the day before, but as a whole, most morning shows are done as close to live as possible.

Johnny and Billy do a day live here and there but mostly recorded
I didn't know that. I remember reading an article a while back about John Boy recording his shows early in the week and spending the rest of the week at his ranch in Waxhaw.

I'm a little concerned about Ace and TJ's clock. There were 3 or 4 stop sets an hour and only 1 or 2 songs between breaks. That's going to kill the TSL. I'm not sure what the format was on Kiss, but all that talk won't work outside of morning drive, especially when the direct competitor is a jockless jukebox.

I worked for a station that carry bob and sherri..... three were about 4 songs per hour.

we dumped the show after 2 weeks when, despite the promise of family friendly, bob asked a lady a very inappropriate question....

"Bob and Sheri" family friendly? I don't think that has ever been true.

I remember when it was appropriate for Hot AC but not Mainstream AC. Now I guess Mainstream AC doesn't have to be clean.

It was marketed to us as some semblance of that, i seem to recall....... this place was in a somewhat conservative, overly catholic/religious area, so we wouldnt have picked up a show that was dirty/distasteful if we knew ahead of time

They were family friendly most of the time with the exception of when Bob asked if the carpet matched the drapes! Clean is subjective!

Thats EXACTLY what caused us to dump the show when the lady called and said some guy said her hair smelled nice, when they were asking for weird compliments... and bob hemmed and haw'd around it and then said... do the carpets match the drapes? (she was a red head) we pulled the show the next day.
