Why is power 92 Chicago so bad

"Bad" in what sense?
  • Low revenue?
  • Poor audio quality?
  • Less than complete coverage of "Chicagoland"?
  • Poor programming practices?
  • Squirrels keep getting into the transmitter?
"Bad" is in the eye of the beholder. Figure out your metrics and then cite them.

I'd say a station stuck toward the bottom of the FM ratings in Chicago is not really trying. WPWX is 50,000 watt Class B station but its tower is in Burnham, IL, near the Indiana border. That's about 30 miles south of Chicago.

It's currently tied in the Chicago numbers at #23. Even though Crawford Broadcasting specializes in religious format stations, WPWX is Urban Contemporary.
