Hartford/New Haven What do you listen to?

What does everyone listen to? I have a wide taste in music. Depends on the mood I'm in.

Normally when I'm home I alternate between 96.1 Kool Radio and The River 105.9

If I'm in the mood I'll stream 94.7 the Block from NYC (Throwback Hip-hop) or Hot 96.9 from Boston (mix of Throwback and new Hip-hop). I particularly like The Get Up Crew on Hot 96.9

If I'm in the mood for Classic Rock I'll tune into either 102.9 the Whale or Rock 102 out of Springfield.

Sometimes in the morning for an hour or two I'll turn on Chris and Allison on 97.7 WATR.

There are specialty shows I listen to regularly if I'm home:

That Thing with Rich Appel Saturdays 9AM-Noon on 97.7 WATR.

Greatest Hits USA Saturdays 6PM-9PM on 97.7 WATR

Reggae Riddims Sundays 9PM-11PM on Hot 93.7 if I'm in the mood.

AT 40: The 70s Sundays 9PM-Midnight om 96.1 Kool Radio.

Sometimes if I remember it's on I listen to Nothing But Old 45s with Larry Kratka on 103.7 WMRD. I think they switched times so that's why I forget about it. Their website is out of date so I can't check the schedule there
 
When I lived in southwestern Connecticut, I’d usually listen to WEBE 108 or Star 99.9. I actually worked at WEBE as fill-in on rare occasions. I liked WKTU from NYC too.
 
I rotate between a few. I stream Martini in the Morning from Tune In Radio. Some times I stream Instrumentals Forever. These can be on hours at a time. My third most listened is Andre Rieu concerts from DVD and You Tube. Lastly a collection of jazzy and fun stuff from YT like Ultra Lounge series of music. At this very second its Nelson Riddle's Route 66 playing.
 
On my commute, the BMF Show (mornings) and the Free-Guey show (afternoons) out of WOJO. Mostly because WVIV doesn't come into my part of town. I tend to prefer Erazno y la Chokolata in afternoons but my local affiliate WDDW doesn't come in that well either, but since they replaced La Bronca, the Free-Guey show has enough funny yuk-yuk jokes to keep me going.

When I lived in Western Ma near the Connecticut border up until 1980...My main radio stations that I listened to were WCCC, WHCN and WAAF. I still frequently drive through that area and if I were still living there it's obvious to me that my primary stations now would be WDRC-FM, WAQY and WLZX...
 
Lived for 15-18 years where lots of Connecticut stations came in well -- out on Long Island. It was long ago, but on AM it was WICC, WAVZ and WDRC. 1360 used to be a nice resting spot overnight into Monday Morning DX hours, when Barry Grant's AoR show was simulcast from he FM (I worked AoR at the time on Lawn Guyland).

The younger ones on Long Island often had the two AoR's on as if they were locals. Once you got east of the Nassau-Suffolk line, WPLR and WDRC were gangbusters on form of radios ....car, home stereos, portables. The preference here was Deeeeehh 1-0-3, but WPLR certainly sounded real good as well.

Am in NE PA now and retired, and of course the dial is as worthless musically as anywhere else in 2024. But Classic Rock Eagle 107, the terrific Hanna 92.3 'Susquehanna's Greatest Hits' and traditional jazz off a WRTI 99.1 translator keeps me playing various air instruments.

I went to Stony Brook University and besides WPLR and WDRC, I-95 WRKI 95.1 came through nicely. My mini stereo system was still able to get 102.7 WNEW New York (in decent stereo clarity), even with WDRC at 102.9 (using its single rod antenna). WHCN 105.9 also had a decent signal on campus.
 
I'm from New Jersey and had family in the Hartford area growing up. I used to listen to 93.1 WHYN), 95.7, 96.5, 101.3,and 104.1 the most when I was 17 in 2008. In present day, I'll listen to 93.1, 96.5, 100.5, 102.1, 102.9, 104.1 and 105.9
