I thought 1160 WJLK feeds W281CK. Did that change?New Jersey 101.5 finally started using their HD2. The “Beach Radio” oldies format is there. I presume that it now feeds W281CK 104.1

I certainly don't, but some folks (not directing this at anyone in particular) seem to enjoy claiming that "almost no one" can hear HD sides. It's true that HD Radio, as it was intended to be utilized, was a dud (personally, I think the tech is good and that it was the marketing that doomed it), but there are plenty of HD radios out there, as quite a lot of cars (including Acura, Alfa Romeo, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Bugatti, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ferrari, Fiat, Ford, Genesis, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jaguar, Jeep, Kia, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Maserati, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche, Ram, Rolls-Royce, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volvo, Volkswagen) have them--often as standard features, meaning the car-buyer doesn't even have to ask for or pay more for them. I bought a new car this year and I have HD radio. My aunt bought a new car last year and, lo and behold, she has HD radio. Two other aunts bought cars the year before that, and--surprise, surprise--they both have HD radio. A lot of people have access to HD sides, and it should be kept in mind that "the car" is the most popular location (87%) for listening to radio. (Next is "at home" with 77% and "work" at 40%.)Do we have a sense on how many people… What percent of the population actually have HD radios that Beach radio or Trenton thunder games being on WKXW-hD something will help the average listener to hear the games? (Unless of course they come up with a translator on the FM band.)
Follow the links in the article.Radio Insights is a bit confusing. What are WJLK-AM and WADB-AM (and their translators) airing now? The story says they "moved" Beach Radio to WKXW's HD2. So I'm curious....

Beach Radio Heads To Trenton
Townsquare Media has moved its Oldies "Beach Radio" format to 101.5 WKXW-HD2 Trenton. WKXW-HD2 will also carry all 40 homeradioinsight.com
It hasn't been on 104.1 since February 2022.New Jersey 101.5 finally started using their HD2. The “Beach Radio” oldies format is there. I presume that it now feeds W281CK 104.1

This is all to give the Thunder a broadcast outlet as contractually obligated after shutting off 920 WNJE. All marketing is pushing the 101.5 app to stream the games.Do we have a sense on how many people… What percent of the population actually have HD radios that Beach radio or Trenton thunder games being on WKXW-hD something will help the average listener to hear the games? If Townsquare ever gets 920 WNJE up and running again, then I could see it operate as a digital station.this is pretty cool, both Trenton signals have oldies outlets, WKXW HD2 and WPRB HD3 two oldies formats in a small market WOW. Beach Radio should stay on 920 to give them a signal for folks that don't have an HD Radio, oldies on AM is not a bad thing.
How would an AM signal feed FM translators? Wouldn’t the translators sound like AM radio?Follow the links in the article.
WADB/WJLK flipped to Country in 2022 and then began simulcasting other stations last July. 1310 WADB is now WOBM simulcasting 92.7 WOBM-FM and 1160 WOBM is now WJLK simulcasting 94.3 WJLK to feed translators. Beach Radio had been exclusively on 104.9 WSJO-HD3 since February 2022 and is now simulcasting on 101.5 WKXW-HD2.
Audacy is doing it in Philly with KYW-AM feeding WPHI. Somehow 103.9 FM is missing the static 🤓. Actually, not feeding, simulcast. How would an AM signal feed FM translators? Wouldn’t the translators sound like AM radio?
The signals are fed via alternate methods. You just need a "parent signal" to be legal. How would an AM signal feed FM translators? Wouldn’t the translators sound like AM radio?
103.9 WPHI isn't a translator. It's another full-powered license.Audacy is doing it in Philly with KYW-AM feeding WPHI. Somehow 103.9 FM is missing the static 🤓. Actually, not feeding, simulcast.
I feel like they should put the Trenton Thunder games on the 104.1 translator that has a sports formatDo we have a sense on how many people… What percent of the population actually have HD radios that Beach radio or Trenton thunder games being on WKXW-hD something will help the average listener to hear the games? Who is THEY? Townsquare Media has the rights to the games. iHeartMedia owns the translator.I feel like they should put the Trenton Thunder games on the 104.1 translator that has a sports format
