Charleston ratings

Could things have gotten worse for iHeart in Charleston? You betcha!

https://ratings.****************/content/arb231

Y and Q are now down to a 3 share even, with WSCC barely ahead at a 3.2. The only bright spot for them is WEZL, which bumped up above a 5 share for the first time in a while. Mix's recent gains seem to possibly be coming at Y's expense? Pretty impressive breakout for Mix recently.

Im really surprised iHeart hasn’t gone Urban in Charleston and brought the Breakfast Club with them. Perhaps that will give WEZL a bump ?

I’m not sure if iHeart has seen enough (if any financially) returns at 102.5 or 104.5 to justify a flip. But if things don’t improve, Real 102.5 with The Breakfast Club and let the thing run itself may not be a bad idea.

Both stations have so much competition. 102.5 has to deal with 95.9, 96.9, 101.7. 104.5 has to deal with 96.9, 98.1, 101.7, and even 105.5.

Can I just say I’m pleasantly surprised to see the Bridge rising again? I done some work trips down in Charleston recently and noticed the station has really recently refreshed its music to sound contemporary and heck better than X98.5 up in the Upstate.

That plus The City on 102.1. 102.5 stays in business because of all the doctors and dentists offices. I was always surprised years ago when Magic was on the weak 101.7 signal they didn’t move it up to a better signal, but then it went to 107.3 after 107.5 went to The Game in Columbia.

Best number I can recall for 99.7 in a while with a 9.7. And country music appears to do better in the summer. Makes sense. And 105.5 rising 4 books in a row. Don’t know any of the Kirkman numbers but I assume their best station is WJNI.
