Years ago, one of the local papers (Riverfront?) did an interview with PD at The Point where it was explained how The Point has always adjusted between alternative and active rock - Depending on current popularity. Early 2010’s era Point would lean more alternative (especially at night). Even PointFest was trending more alternative with the acts such as Lumineers, Gaslight Anthem, etc. Then is the late 2010’s, you saw noticeable trend back towards active rock acts during the day while still maintaining the alternative identity in the evening. Recent review of playlist indicates The Point is almost 95% active rock. In fact, majority of solid alt artist would be confined to 90s hits which would have been a decade where alt/mainstream rock was more blurred. I even noticed an ozzy track in the playlist. At what ‘point’ do you think this obvious trend more towards active rock would shift the format reporting designation from alt to active?
