Been working the evening shift and was hearing WZGC include WAOK and WVEE HD3 in its legal ID. I tuned in during the day and it was still talk on 1380 WAOK. So Im assuming they simlucasting 7pm to 6am now.
WAOK has a decent night signal, especially for its demo. Surprised they couldn't just find something syndicated or reruns to cover that air time. Or maybe throw on some random Audacy online station that would be simpatico to WAOK's demo. Its been simulcasting WZGC over night and evenings for several years. Simulcasting WZGC was a purely economic move at the time.
It could be a back of the house budget cut. If WAOK was taking the WZGC feed through it's automation and then inserting a legal ID, that meant someone had to program/set it up each week. I realize it is a small task, but it is a task. Somebody could have said lets stop doing that and just take the straight feed off of WZGC and let WZGC do the ID's for everything.Ok but I swear hearing both stations legal id on 92.9 is a new thing, the simlucast is not new though I see.
Wonder why they can't be transparent on their website. It just says "WAOK Late Night". An ATL TV station would never be that vague.Been working the evening shift and was hearing WZGC include WAOK and WVEE HD3 in its legal ID.
