IGN (Gaming Network) No Longer On The Roku Channel??

Sounds like they don't want to pay Roku for carriage when they could stream it themselves. After all, gamers are used to watching streams like Twitch. There's no need to have a multi-channel streaming provider carry you too.

That makes likes ZERO sense for them to do that. Without sysgtems like The Roku Channel, they become dependent on the Smart TV app they develop

If they don't do THAT, they have NO chance at capturing the big screen audience. It's not like users generate content like users generate content for Twitch (I wouldn't be surprised if IGN dropped Twitch as well since it's owned by Amazon)

And that's a negative how? Roku charges them for carriage. If you've already invested development capital into a smart TV app, and include some promotional dollars to promote it, why do you need to pay Roku too? You're working on playing the long game, not the short (expensive) term.

Big screen audience? Do you mean movie theaters? Doesn't make sense.

There are lots of commercial organizations generating popular content for Twitch.

No not THAT Big Screen audience. Ever heard of BIG SCREEN SMART TV's?? That's what I'm talking about

And most of those are advertisers whom IGN would NEVER sell ad time to EVEN IF the advertiser were to try to BUY it as IGN seems to be THAT foolish

Ah, big-screen TVs. By definition, TV's aren't known as The Big Screen:
From the Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

1. : relating to movies or to the movie industry. She worked on the novel's big-screen adaptation.

You don't speak for the advertising industry. Heck, you don't even know what the term 'big screen' is.

Big screen as in traditional television viewers much like what g4 did when they launched a over the air channel on linear televison to try to capture the big screen audience so to speak i think jeeper may have been referring to. I do think having a channel on roku was a smart idea for ign because there is a big part of the millennials and younger generation who use the free roku service on a daily basis.
