Central Jersey NJ 101.5 Morning Host to Run for Governor

Bill has a tough fight ahead of him, and it's not the one in November 2025. It's the Republican primary, where he will run against the person who nearly became governor in 2021: Jim Ciatarelli.

Small correction, his name is actually Jack Ciattarelli.

Gotta wonder how bad Ciattarelli really wanted to be Governor considering his abrupt dropout last time instead of calling for a recount. It was close enough that he should have put forth more of a challenge.

Just let him be until he's "legally qualified". Can you imagine Spadea's constant whining about being "silenced" if the NJ government said he had to give up his radio show now? "The Democrats in Trenton are coming after me, and they'll come after you next if you don't vote to kick 'em out of office!"

Plus, there's a chance he'll back out early if it looks like he has no chance of winning the primary. Better to be a quitter with a big microphone than a loser with none.

I'm guessing the rule that he has to be off the air comes down to the fairness act?

The fairness doctrine doesnt apply anymore

It has to do in part, i think.. with equal time... if he is on there, his opponents could easily argue for equal time... and i think it'd be too easy to argue he'd be using the radio station as his pulpit to talk about his position running for office wether directly/indirectly or whatever

More on the situation at NJ 101.5:

Spadea's says there's "nothing in New Jersey state law....'' but radio stations aren't only regulated by the state. There are federal laws that apply. While he may complain about it, the laws are meant to ensure fairness. He has an advantage that his opponents don't. People in his party complain about unfair elections and election interference, and then they do it themselves.
